Forgotten

Marvin knew what he was doing was wrong, but he had no choice. Day by day he felt himself fading. Slowly disappearing from the world. He’d forgotten things. He didn’t know what he was forgetting, but he knew that things were missing. Chunks of his memories were gone. Parts of his personality were missing. Chase had come to him the other day and asked if anything was wrong. He’d said that Marvin was quieter and more reserved. Marvin had lied and said he was fine, despite the empty feeling in his gut. What was his favorite color again? What kind of food did he like to eat? What was the name of the zombie they kept around the house? Robbie? He honestly didn’t know anymore. In his fear, Marvin ignored his missing memories. He told himself that everything was fine. But when Marvin started to physically disappear was when he couldn’t sit around anymore. He knew this was a bad idea, but he had to do it. Marvin laid in his bed, anxious to follow through with his plan. The ego’s are connected to Jack through dreams. Marvin, Chase, Schneep, Robbie, and Jackieboy all share dreams with Jack. They also share his nightmares. Jack’s nightmares come from a special part of his mind. The part of his mind in which a demon lives. Marvin wanted to contact that demon. He’d set up all the right steps for a spell that would get him in contact with Anti through his dreams. To the other ego’s it would seem like a bad dream. Marvin didn’t want to give them nightmares, but he needed to stop his fading. He couldn’t be forgotten. Marvin closed his eyes. All he needed to do to finish the spell was to fall asleep. But he couldn’t. Fear gnawed at his insides, turning his stomach. He was afraid of Anti. but he was also afraid of being forgotten. He had to do this. He had to. He had to sleep. He opened his eyes. he was floating in a black void. Where was he? He began to panic. Dream. Right, he was dreaming. This was what he wanted. But the feeling of panic didn’t go away. His hands began to shake as his mind filled with dread and anxiety. No. don’t be nervous. You have to do this. You have to. You need to. He called into the darkness. “Anti?” no response. He continued to call. He needed Anti. he needed him. He couldn’t be forgotten. He yelled, floating through the darkness, for what seemed like an eternity. His hands began to flicker in and out of existence. He started crying. He couldn’t be forgotten. He’d never made it as a master magician. There were still so many people that he needed to make happy. He couldn’t be forgotten now. He couldn’t…. The air around him shifted. He heard the sound of static. Marvin looked up to see Anti. Anti was smiling at Marvin’s grief.

Anti’s cold grin sent chills up Marvin’s spine. “I-I need your help with something.” Marvin said.

Marvin’s stomach twisted in fear. He wanted to curl up into a ball and forget the world. But he had Anti’s attention. And if he didn’t follow through the world would forget him. “I-I-I need your help b-because i’m being f-forgotten. I-I know that you can d-do something. Anti laughed at Marvin’s fear. Anti’s laugh made Marvin want to claw his ears off.

“Yes, i don’t know what to do. Please, i need your help.” Anti glitched closer to Marvin. Marvin wanted to scream and run, but he needed Anti. Anti laughed.

Anti disappeared in a flurry of glitches. The glitches spread to the walls of the black void, consuming everything. The glitches made their way up Marvin’s arms, burning his skin. He panicked. He struggled against the glitches, forgetting why he was there in his fear. The glitches dug into his skin as they continued to spread to the rest of his body. They crawled into his brain, consuming his thoughts. All he could think of was the pain he was in. All he could hear was static, even over the sound of his own screams. His eyes snapped open. He was still in his bed. Had that been a dream? Or did he actually do it? He looked at his hands, the fading had stopped. He remembered the things he forgot. His favorite color was midnight blue. His favorite food was cookies, especially if they’re accompanied by warm tea. Tears of joy began to fall down Marvin’s face. He wasn’t fading anymore. He looked at the ceiling smiling, grateful for whatever Anti did to help. Then he heard something. Something in the back of his head. A giggle. He sat up and looked around his room. There was nothing there. He heard it again. A giggle. The giggling continued. It got louder and louder. Marvin covered his ears. But the giggling continued. The giggles turned into laughter. Loud, insane, psychotic laughter. Marvin pulled at his hair. “Make it stop!” he shouted, but he couldn’t hear himself over the laughter. His skin tingled. He heard static over the laughter in his head. He began shaking and twitching. “Stop! he shouted again, desperate for it to stop. The laughing continued, until he heard the laughter escape his own lips.

(so this was just kind of a thing I came up with out of nowhere that I wanted to write. it’s kind of a hypothetical like, what if we were to start forgetting Marvin)

i’m not sure who to tag here

@magic-marvin-protection-patrol what do you think of the way I wrote Marvin?

@anti-protection-squad what do you think of my Anti?

@pandapopplay, @spiffanywolfe, @the-ego-fic-train, @egomaniac1998, @no-strings-puppet, @blipblorpsnork what do you think of my writing? is there anything I could change or improve?

better question, would you like to see this continued? I have a small idea of where it could go, but what do you think?

I really liked this! It’s well written and I see lots of potential for a good story. Keep writing, I would love to read more!

This is awesome! Well done! I’d love to see Anti maybe posing as Marvin and telling the others everything has been sorted just to screw with them. I think that would be really interesting! 😊 Can’t wait to read more!!
