Jack has complained about people not taking Anti seriously and turned him into a meme. (He says it’s his fault, but personally I believe it’s ours.)
I want to settle this right here: If you take Anti seriously, please show your appreciation by liking and/ or sharing this post.
Anti is the most badass character I have ever seen, and I do take him seriously. Anti will always be in my heart because I love the amount of collaboration we all do together to come up with theories of him. (And again, because he is badass!)
Jack, you did nothing wrong here, we absolutely LOVE, I mean LOVE LOVE when you make Anti appearances, it’s one of the many coolest things you’ve ever done for us! Thank you!
We understand if you want to keep his appearances all spaced out, that is your choice, and we fully support that. ❤
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through this space
Not a creature was stirring, not even Chase.
He slept in his bed, as sound as a bear,
With no idea what might be hiding in there.
The doctor was nestled all snug at his desk,
While his visions of terror were nothing but grotesque.
And Jackie in his jumpsuit, and Marvin in his cape,
Had just settled in their rooms with no means of escape.
When above his head there arose such a clatter,
Henrik sprang from his chair to see what was the matter.
Away to the door he flew like a flash,
He broke off the doorknob and ran through with a crash.
The moonlight shining through through the window,
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to his terrified eyes should appear,
But a pool of blood and a figure drawing near.
With a great shiny knife, and a smile like a witch,
He knew in a moment it must be the glitch.
More rapid than eagles the other egos came,
And the glitch whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
“Now Henrik! now, Marvin! now, Jackie, you halt!
I see you’ve caught me in the middle of my assault!
Look down here to the remains of your friend!
I’ve gone and made him cause his own end!”
They all stumbled back in terror,
as they soon realized their error.
They should not have let their guards down,
So the glitch took his knife and swung it around.
And then, in a second, the glitch absconded,
Leaving nothing but a body with a hole in his head.
Down the stairs they went with a bound,
As they all succumbed to a meltdown.
They hunkered in the basement with a phone on mute,
When on the screen appeared eyes black as soot.
Marvin flung the device at the wall with a crack,
And they all realized their demise was back.
His eyes-how they flickered! his face, how bloody!
His cheeks were like a canvas, all splattered and muddy!
His crooked little mouth was turned up in a grin,
And the beard of his chin was patchy, revealing reddened skin.
The sharpened blade he held tight in his fist,
And the blood drip-dropped from his wrist.
He had a wide eyes and an aura of green,
That flickered when he laughed, like an old TV screen!
He was thin and tall, like an armature of wire,
And they screamed when they saw him, knowing the situation was dire!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon let them know they had everything to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And swung his blade, then turned with a jerk.
With one last glance to admire this scene,
he turns toward you and looks right through your screen.
(note: once again the original thought i had for this went out the window by the time i reached the end. but i think a good realization came out of it that i kinda hope others take a chance to read)
im completely fine with holding off of anti for a good amount of time/whenever jack feels right/comfortable to bring him back again. and if a long wait means new ideas/possibilities where the glitch’s character grows more in-depth/complex, even more so 150% :).
i think the main thing that really bums me out/kinda makes me sad though is the whole “anti being a meme/not taking seriously” thing. cos like, im v e r y much guilty of making a lot of anti memes. like, a loooooooot of memes. but ive always done them because i was so so so afraid/anxious of what he would do next.
because like, sure anti hates circles, his first word was “knife”, etc.
but like, he legit made jack cut his own throat against his own will. like he legit made jack turn over in his chair and rendered him unconscious in part 4 of sister location in order for him to take over. the very reason i started properly theorizing in the first place, was because of those detention glitches, the ones where we couldn’t even tell the difference between jack, someone we cared so much about, and anti, a murderer, a torturer, in them.
the thought of jack being trapped against his will as anti took over his life for months, and him desperately trying to reach out to us to help him. but all we did those months was “watch, as this happened”. the thought that we not only abandoned jack, but literally assisted/enabled in his abandonment/demise because we fueled Anti so so much, was so haunting, so terrifying to me that i had to figure out what else anti was planning. i HAD to figure out a way that we could stop him and i h a d to save jack.
but then it was too late as anti appeared again at Pax, with two fresh stab wounds in Jack’s throat, and an even more desperate cry for help.
and then much later, kinda ironically, anti somewhat took advantage of this need to save jack with the antipocalypse. because i whole-heartedly thought schneeplestein was evil/cahooting with him. but in the sad reality i “believed his lies”, and it was revealed that schneep actually saved jack on halloween, and was good all along.
even more blood on my hands. two more victims now, as again, we just sat and watched helplessly. thanks anti…..
but also, in the midst of the whole antipocalypse thing, the whole “protecting chase brody” meme thing popped up. and i think that was when a lot of the memes came about (at least for me anyway) cos 1) dude’s naturally a memey guy, and 2) a guy who’s already got a sad backstory/technically shoots himself in the head because of it, didn’t deserve to also have to deal with a murderous demon. and then things got even WORSE/SADDER when people were proposing that maybe chase was secretly anti/turns into anti after killing himself. (Hence, why i got soo emotionally impacted when i saw jack like a “Chase=Anti” theory post.)
so like, after everything, we’re dealing with A) jack being trapped for over a year by anti, always a l w a y s asking us to help him, B) schneep being betrayed by us becuase we thought that he was evil, and now we honestly dont know the repercussions for what anti did to him/our actions (we dont even know if he’s a l i v e, let alone okay) and C) Chase Brody, an ego who’s already got a tough life/is well-liked, possibly either dying by the demon’s hands, having said demon go after his wife/kids, or betraying us and BEING said demon at a n y given moment.
And the harsh, terrifying reality of it all is that it’ll all continue without change, without challenge. and there’s nothing you can do for any of them. NONE OF THEM. FOR OVER A YEAR, l i t e r a l l y nothing but sit and watch as Anti becomes stronger by YOUR HANDS. no matter what you do, what you choose, you still feed anti’s power and give him attention more and more and more and more and more and more and MORE AND M O R E AND MORE….
so all we can do is joke about it.
joke about anti, making fun of his knife collection, give him nicknames. joke about us fighting to keep chase alive. joke about jack and anti actually just getting along together like a cheesy old sitcom. that’s all we can do.
that’s a l l we can do
that’s the only thing, the only power we can use in retaliation to an unstoppable, invincible, murderous, time-traveling, corrupting demon with no reasoning for his actions other than a simple want to watch the world b u r n.
like a child’s umbrella to a category 5 hurricane.
and that’s what terrifies me about anti.
that no matter all the theories, all the shitposts, all the times we call him “glitch b*tch”, all we can do is helplessly, e n d l e s s l y, scream and pound and mock, mock, mock through a crystal-clear, but soundproof window.
all while the “glitch b*tch” eventually moves on to the next phase, his next victim, seamlessly and without a single obstacle in his way…
and we’re just watching, powerless. same as always.
So I’ve been reading a lot of fics lately where people are either
A) Putting wings onto canon characters
B) Making OCs with wings
So I decided that, with the influx of people who are writing winged characters (and therefore the influx of errors that come with writing winged characters), I’d make a little thing to help you slap a pair of wings onto anyone!
This is also a bit personal, too, because the MC in my upcoming novel has wings!
1. Know that there are a lot of types of wings to choose from
Part of being a writer is the desire to take something (whether it be a pre-existing work or an idea in your head) and make it into your own. So, instead of just going with the classic bird wings, why not spice it up a bit? If your character is an angel, you certainly don’t have to stick to the classic depictions of angel wings. Why not give them butterfly wings or dragonfly wings?
Here’s a small list of different types of wings to choose from:
Bat wings
Beetle wings
Bird wings
Butterfly/Moth wings
Dragonfly wings
Note that these wings are for animals who can fly. There are also animals who can “fly” that actually glide, such as sugar gliders and flying squirrels.
Yeah, so the options are pretty limited, but feel free to make up your own kinds of wings that aren’t necessarily based on a pre-existing creature’s wings!
2. Be familiar with the anatomy of your character’s wings and their limits
If your wings are completely unique, draw them out. A diagram or picture is key when it comes to things like description. I’m not gonna tell you what everything does and give you Animal Wing Anatomy 101, that’s for you to research. Know that there are different types of wings and that they have different uses, strengths, and weaknesses.
3. Never use the full extent of your research!
Surprise, surprise!
“But wait, Maddy!” you cry, writing utensil in hand and poised to stab me. “I thought we were supposed to were supposed to show our research!”
Well, you are. Technically that’s not wrong. But, readers don’t want to know ALL of it. Over-described wings are sometimes worse than under-described wings; what sucks more than not knowing what a character’s wings look like is having to look up wing anatomy in the middle of the chapter!
Only use the most basic of vocabulary when it comes to describing the parts of the wing. Most of the time, you just have to say “bat wing” or “feathery wing” and the readers get the basic idea. (Like seriously, do you think the readers know what a dactylopatagium brevis is????? It’s a part of skin on a bat’s wing btw)
4. Don’t bring your character’s wings up only when they’re needed!!!!
Unless your character’s wings can fade away when they’re not needed, wings are a 100% real, 24/7 thing! It’s bothersome when writers mention the wings in one chapter and then only bring them up when there’s a daring escape that needs to be performed! Most of the time, I forget that the characters even have wings at all!
There is also the fact that wings aren’t all pros and no cons. If they’re functional, they’re probably big, and if they’re muscular, they’re probably bulky. If your character is clumsy, they’ll probably knock things over constantly, and if they’re not clumsy, they’ll still knock things over constantly.
Your wings are two (or four, or five, or six quintillion) extra appendages; they’re a part of your character! You don’t have to spend every second reminding the readers that they’re there, but don’t go long stretches of time without even mentioning them.
5. Your character’s wings can be a good way to indicate their mood or to provide for that little bit of description that you think you make be lacking
Why wouldn’t you want to describe the wings? I mean, you don’t want to describe every minute detail over and over again, but it’ll boost your word count a lot more than you think. They can also be used to convey your character’s feelings without explicitly telling the reader! It’s like a new set of facial expressions!
See? You can tell he’s wary and ready to fight from the movement of his wings! Also he’s crouching next to a dead body but that’s not relevant right now
Here’s a list of wing language (?) that you can incorporate into your story that will not only increase your word count, but will also add to the sustenance of your story!

They are as follows (this got kind of long and I apologize for that ghdskgsjdf):
Anti = “Ati” and occasionally “Big Brother”, but mostly the former (Robbie has a hard time with blended n-sounds in words like Anti’s name, so “Ati” was the closest he’s able to get to it, and it just stuck and Anti certainly isn’t complaining, and he prefers Robbie call him Ati instead of Anti anyway bc it’s special and he fucking adores when Robbie calls him that.)
Marvin = “Mar” and “MarMar” (Robbie called Marvin “Ma” at first, but Marvin quickly shut that down bc “I’m not your mother, Robbie”, even tho he damn well acts like it sometimes, despite them having more of a brotherly relationship, so then after that Robbie started calling Marvin Mar and MarMar.)
Dr. Schneeplestein = “Sheep” (The first time Schneep introduced himself to Robbie, his name was basically static to the poor zombie, so Schneep said he can call him Schneep for short if that was easier for him, and since Robbie has trouble with blended n-sounds, he ended up calling him Sheep, which made everyone snicker. When Robbie later learns what exactly a sheep is, he’ll sometimes baa at Schneep after he calls him Sheep and giggle like it’s the funniest thing in the world, and Schneep just smiles and let’s Robbie have his fun.)
Jameson Jackson = “JJ” (Jameson’s full name is too much of a mouthful for Robbie, so he just calls him JJ for simplicity’s sake, and not to mention it’s really cute. The other egos picked up on it from Robbie, and now everyone basically calls Jameson “JJ” as a nickname. Robbie was so proud of himself for starting that and always beams proudly when he remembers that he started that.)
Jackieboy Man = “Juhbum” (For the longest time, Robbie’s only ever seen Jackie’s initials on his emblem (JBM), so he literally thought that was Jackie’s name until Jackie overheard him and asked him who Juhbum was, and Robbie pointed at Jackie’s emblem, and even tho Jackie corrected Robbie, the zombie pointed at the hero again and said “Juhbum!” excitedly with big happy eyes, and Jackie caved in and accepted his new nickname, but he quickly grew to love it and actually prefers Robbie to call him that instead of his actual name.)
Chase Brody = “Chess” (Chase thinks it’s hilarious and doesn’t mind that Robbie’s only slightly off with pronouncing his name.)
Angus = “Gus” (It was either that or “Agus”, and Gus sounds better anyway; besides, Angus has had other ppl call him Gus before, so he doesn’t mind.)
