It’s been mainly agreed upon that Anti slits Jack’s throat to weaken him. But I theorise it’s a certain kind of weakness that ties into why Anti hates Jack so much, and whether or not Anti is the “good guy” after all.
Think on this. Jack and his community are septic. He’s spreading laughter, joy, happiness, care and entertainment at an alarming rate. It’s contagious. Anti might even view him as worthy of being called an infection or disease.
Diseases and infections come from pathogens. We can kill pathogens by washing our hands or unclean surfaces, or by cleaning the air in a space. But what do we clean them with?
Antiseptic products.
Anti wants to kill this septic pathogen we adore, because how dare we love something so dirty, so unclean, so contagious?
“Say Goodbye”, “Always Watching” and “Bio Inc 5 – Kil JSE” are all videos where the atmosphere was weighed down more and more by glitches until Anti appeared.
The videos preceding “Say Goodbye” demonstrates Anti’s methods of preparing his appearance – glitches and secret messages filled the air in the JSE community with his antiseptic influence, to clean and purify the place before he makes his entrance.
“Say Goodbye” shows Jack steadily getting more paranoid, more uneasy, with more and more glitches leading up to the end – this is Anti finalising the sanitation process. And the first thing hesaysafter the deed is done is this:
“His body was weak!”
How easy it was for him to take over, to silence this toxic man, with a slit throat? Jack’s blood is septic, and when exposed to Anti’s “cleaner” environment the antibodies enter his bloodstream, allowing Anti to sterilise and control his puppet with more ease.
When Anti visited Pax East, a place where the excitement and enthusiam in the JSE community was just about tangible, he delivered this line:
“But I’ve been here this entire time! Keeping an eye on things.”
When you’re given a vaccination, antibodies are created to destroy that specific pathogen, and your immune system remembers that pathogen, storing the instructions to create the antibody needed for any future infections. Anti’s always in the background, waiting to attack and vaporise the infection whenever he hypes us up too much, whether in a much-awaited video, at a panel, etc. This explains how quickly he took over Jack in the panel intro, compared to “Say Goodbye”.
And in the infamous “Bio Inc 5 – Kill JSE” that shook the fandom on August 3rd, Anti once again makes a suspicious statement:
“This… is my world!”
Anti wants a world free of Jack, free of infections and diseases.
Deep down, Anti wants to rescue us, but we’ve twisted him so much he can only resort to violence and cruel methods.
However, he doesn’t see himself as a disease like we do – he sees himself as the cure. So he goes straight for Schneeplestein, to get some “professional” help in containing the pathogen. He also takes longer to appear – like in “Say Goodbye” – because despite the strenous atmosphere, the good doctor pushes on to save Jack and determinedly fights off the glitch bitch until he too is sanitised and removed from the picture.
The other egos are most definitely next – they’ve received so much warmth and love from us that the contamination rate in the community has risen dangerously high. And yet, we love the green bean, the glitch bitch and the other egos too much to lose any of them. So to “save” them all, we stitch up and rescue Jack every time, flooding him with poisonous love and support, tearing apart Anti’s dream of a clean and perfect world.
And every time we do, he comes back to apply antiseptic to the wounds we create.
