It had been a year. A whole year with no sign of the Doctor. Even the most stoic fan had started to demand an appearance from him again.
So when a title for a new surgery game flashed up with āBACK FROM VACATIONā on YouTube with the beloved surgeon on the thumbnail, the fandom collectively lost their minds. The tags initially flooded with people expressing their joy at seeing the good doctor back. Not many people noticed the tiny tinge of green in one of his eyes ā¦ā¦
The video started.
āVelcome back mein friends! I heard zat zer good doctor was needed once more to operate on a new patient. Fear not, good sir or madam, you are in the best hands!ā He started the game and talked to his āpatientā reassuringly.
Halfway through he looked at the camera.
āJack told me somezing very sweet. He said that you were asking for me while I was onā¦..ā
There was a slight pause, he stared at the camera and the quietest whisper was heard. The Doctor snapped back into reality.
āVACATION! Ha ha! I nearly forgot ze the wordā he laughed it off. āYes, Jack said that you all hoped was okay. dĢ“iĢødĢ“ ĢµyĢµoĢ·uĢ¶ Ģ¶mĢ·iĢ·sĢµsĢø ĢµmĢ“eĢ· that much?ā He laughed again, a little more high pitched this time, not even addressing that something was wrong.
He went back to the game, his laugh and his behaviour becoming more like Antiās until the camera glitched during the outroā¦..
You want to believe that this is simply another fun video. That the dread youāre feeling in your chest in unwarranted and irrational. As the video draws to a close you can almost believe that everything is fine.
And then the outro glitches, and you can almost hear it. The collective gasp of everyone watch. Every single viewer wincing, jumping, like they had been struck. You slam your computer closed, you put your phone away, to try to take a deep breath, but you canāt.
He only wanted to help. After everything we said about him, he just wanted to save Jack. He didnāt care about himself. And now heāsā¦ heāsā¦
Schneep would probably have a caniption if he saw my medical history XD Iām practically a walking disaster. My family jokes I have the veins of a druggie because of how many times Iāve been poked and prodded with needles, and with rolling veins making it difficult to boot XD Cleft pallette, appendicitis, tonsils and adenoids removed, car accident that covered me in scars broken bones along with my teeth caused nerve damage in my leg and feet as well as a dead spleen and three replaced ligaments in my leg which then had to be replaced again along with my fourth ligament, pancreatitis multiple times till I ended up in a hospital for two months and got my gallbladder removed to fix it, and finally my most recent issue from last year, kidney stone. Iāve been through the ringer XD Schneep would have to be on constant alert if he was my doctor XD itās a wonder my mother hasnāt put me in a bubble
With Jack on a break from tumblr, the lovely @fear-is-nameless came up with the idea to throw a surprise party for Jack when he comes back!! And since I know some more guidance when it comes to prompts and tags like this, I figured itād be better to give you all a sense of direction!
Here is the general idea:
-Go out and make something!! It can be general fanart! It can be writing, it can be anything!
If you want a specific theme, we could go for something like a surprise party! The egos with party hats on? The community surprising when Jack comes back through the door of tumblr? A BIG EGO HUG PILE?? A welcome back message ?? WOWIE SO MANY POSSIBILITIES WOW CONFETTI
