No, see, this scene is just amazing. The costume department deserves so many kudos for this, it’s unreal, especially given the fact that they pulled off Peggy pretty much flawlessly.

1) Her hair is completely wrong for the 40’s. No professional/working woman  would have her hair loose like that. Since they’re trying to pass this off as a military hospital, Steve would know that she would at least have her hair carefully pulled back, if maybe not in the elaborate coiffures that would have been popular.

2) Her tie? Too wide, too long. That’s a man’s tie, not a woman’s. They did, however, get the knot correct as far as I can see – that looks like a Windsor.

3) That. Bra. There is so much clashing between that bra and what Steve would expect (remember, he worked with a bunch of women for a long time) that it has to be intentional. She’s wearing a foam cup, which would have been unheard of back then. It’s also an exceptionally old or ill-fitting bra – why else can you see the tops of the cups? No woman would have been caught dead with misbehaving lingerie like that back then, and the soft satin cups of 40’s lingerie made it nearly impossible anyway. Her breasts are also sitting at a much lower angle than would be acceptable in the 40’s.

Look at his eyes. He knows by the time he gets to her hair that something is very, very wrong.

There’s no knowing what kind of condition Steve’s in, or what kind of person he really is, after decades of nostalgia blur the reality and the long years in the ice (after a plane crash and a shitload of radiation) do their work. (Pre-crash Steve is in lots of files, I’m sure. Nick Fury does not trust files.) So Fury instructs his people to build a stage, and makes sure that the right people put up some of the wrong cues.

Maybe the real Steve’s a dick, or just an above-average jock; maybe he had a knack for hanging out with real talent. Maybe he hit his head too hard on the landing and he’s not gonna be Captain anymore. On the flipside, if he really is smart, then putting him in a standard, modern hospital room and telling him the truth is going to have him clamming up and refusing to believe a goddamn thing he hears for a really long time.

The real question here is, how long it does it take for the man, the myth, the legend to notice? What does he do about it? How long does he wait to get his bearings, confirm his suspicions, and gather information before attempting busting out?

Turns out the answer’s about forty-five seconds.

Ok so I defended the shit outta Sean tonight.

So I was at my dad’s yet again. And I was going on about Anti and the egos and the hype behind everything, and my dad goes “Well yeah, that’s how youtubers keep people interested. It brings in more money, so that’s smart business.” And then I yet again got into the whole debate with him about how Sean doesn’t do youtube with money as the driving force, he does it because he loves it. And my dad keeps going on and on about how ALL youtubers do youtube for money, how they basically game the system for views and push merch out for financial gain. 

So I was explaining to him how Sean doesn’t do that. That yeah, he does have merch, and he and Robin make really cool shit, but Sean doesn’t PUSH merch out and he makes cool stuff because he wants to, because he ENJOYS it. I also explained that Sean lives modestly, I quoted the Lamborghini thing Sean once said “If I ever buy a Lamborghini someone can shoot me” To which he said, if  Sean was a smart business man he’d spend the money he had or build on it for his future kids so they never had to work, and that he SHOULD push merch out.

I tried everything I could to convince him that Sean is a down to earth person who does what he does because he loves it, and he goes “But as a business standpoint he does it for money Melissa. I’m sure he has managers and an editor. They want him to make as much money as possible. They want to get paid decently as well.” And I explained to him that Sean does pay his editor decently. I explained that while yes, youtube IS Sean’s career that doesn’t make him money driven.

I also pointed out how Sean interacts with HUNDREDS of people in the community daily, and how he genuinely cares about us, and my dad’s response to that was that he does this to build the audience and put himself out there more for growth, which then in turn brings in more revenue.

At that point I realized that I couldn’t convince him otherwise, and that he’ll just have to watch Sean’s content himself to see. 

It really saddens me to see that people think that youtubers like Sean do what they do for financial gain, when in reality, there are still humble and passionate people out there who worked there asses off doing what they love and got where they are because of it. They still care about everyone here and they still do what they do because they enjoy it and they want to make people smile.

To be fair, I can see where your dad is coming from. It’s how a lot of people see youtubers because that IS what a lot of youtubers do. It’s full of dishonest people who use people as stepping stones so I can definitel see WHY he’d think that, even when it’s not true. He doesn’t know me well and he hasn’t met me or likely interacted with me much at all so i’m sure if he did he’d change his mind 🙂 i’m not malicious haha.

I do appreciate you trying to defend me, it’s very sweet of you and I also like that you see me as I really am and my morals shine through despite what someone else says. I am honestly, hand on heart not doing any of the things I do for financial or numerical gain. Sure some things have a side effect like that from doing that but it’s never the main reason for doing it. I’m all about making cool, fun stuff for people and making them feel welcome and involved.

The important thing to take away is that it doesn’t matter if people see you a certain way if that’s not who you truly are. If you’re genuine then that will always shine through at the end of the day. People just haven’t had a chance to see it for themselves yet and judging from an outside perspective is always going to be an aspect of life. Just be yourself, soldier on and prove people wrong! 😀

For the users wondering if this whole ego thing is over since the game is over, I thought I’d give my two cents (besides Reverse asked me haha):

1. Though it might be an intriguing move as a writer for Sean to wait to continue this, it would be a bad one. We know that Sean has tours and limited time, but this changes EVERYTHING about the “universe” we are watching. This changes EVERYTHING about “Jack”. It would be a terrible move to end it here and pretend nothing happenes. That would negate the momentous significance of what just happened.

2. He’s left us with questions before, but never like this. This answered nothing. This wasn’t a chapter closing, this was the beginning of a chapter. The Egos have been trying to get Jack to remember. He did. But what’s the point of all of that happening if there’s no follow up? Why do all of this if he isn’t going to explore what this leads to?

3. There was no big end. When things like this happen, it’s been with Anti. And what happens when Anti ends a video? Black screen, a voice, and a threat. In “Say Goodbye” it was just that. In KJSE it was “see you soon”. With this? This hasn’t ended. He remembers. “I remember what he did to me.” Okay, but now what? Why do we care? We don’t care unless we care about what happens next, and the care for what happens next is why this hasn’t ended yet. That is almost more important than what just happened.

4. In a meta sense, there’s been no conclusion. Sean is clearly not worried about interfering with the universe. He’s doing live streams, Tumblr spams, tweeting like normal. This has never happened before when something with the Egos happens. It’s dead silence. Cryptic clues. But it always ends with a vlog where he explains what happened. After “Say Goodbye”, after KJSE, even after Pax. He explained everything that day, or as soon as he could get to it. It may be too early to call this one, but I don’t see him spouting an explanation in this live stream, and what better time to do so? He’s discussed Ego activity in streams before.

5. The momentum. Jack is a master of controlling the community’s energy. He has had years to practice how to control us and pull us along, and has gotten very good at it. Just look at Overnight Watch. He even pulled in others to help him, and clearly gave them instructions on exactly how to mess with us (since PJ was involved and no one said anything about it during the charity drive). He knows what he’s doing. And he has to know better than to leave us now.

6. The mask in the live stream. And as far as I know, he hasn’t breathed a word about this whole thing. This cheek is still messing with us. This isn’t over. Not even close.

I gotta say, I agree with my girl here! If this is all we get for now, I’m perfectly content to wait it out, but he’s still up to something. So I wouldn’t be surprised if we aren’t quite out of the woods yet!

That was my question a few minutes ago…but then I realized something-

What if it was Marvin? What if we were watching Marvin?

Okay, let’s conduct a hypothetical situation:

The only three (four, if you count Robbie) Egos that have not made their own appearances as of this year directly are: Marvin, Jackie, and Jameson.

Out of those three(or four) only one could possibly have the power to effectively disguise themself, only one person could create the illusion of us watching Jack. And that someone is Marvin.

Marvin possibly wanted to hide from Anti, or lure him into a trap, all while Schneep makes his return and Chase gets Jack to safety trying to get him to wake up.

and while schneep didnt totally succeed, maybe that was when jack was able to slowly remember more

and he remembered in DDLC’s tag’s before they were deleted: 

“canyouhearme, i remember what happened”

only for that to be deleted and overnightwatch passing by unbeknownst to him but NOTICED TO ALL OF US

but now, finally. 9 months later. all the egos trying to help him out.

People can you STOP quoting the ending before people had the time to watch it?? It’s literally 19 minutes after the upload, you CANNOT reach the ending of a 45 minutes video in that time. Do you also go to the movies like that? Skip to the ending and then yell to at everyone still watching what the ending is?

You’re not “Cool” and not “Smart” by skipping instead of watching the video, there’s nothing to brag about. Just because you’re the first to say your opinions it doesn’t mean they’re any better than other people’s, quite the contrary. Personally I don’t want to hear someone who can’t respect their community enough to shut up for literally a few more minutes, someone who only bothers with “Jack’s egos” and not the work Jack and Robin put into a freaking 45 minutes video! Do you even understand how much work they do for us? And you just go around bragging that you didn’t watch it and ruin other people’s experiences?

Well I hope you’re proud of yourself, cuz I’m not proud of that sort of behaviour.
