personal headcanon – yandereplier is mtf and uses she/her pronouns. she’ll burst into tears when anyone uses he/him pronouns for her.

yan nearly never went back to class after the school made her wear a boy’s uniform instead of a girl’s.

but, thanks to a little visit from good old papa warfstache and daddy dark, and a couple dead bodies from the school administrators, yan was more than welcome to wear the girl’s uniform to class everyday.

she came out to wilford and dark in a spur of the moment once while they were shopping for back to school clothes. when she was only 12.

the shop owners kept referring to her as “young man”, “sir”, “mister”, and “handsome young lad.”

she couldn’t take it and rushed out the dressing room in her baggy jacket and jeans. sitting outside near the fountain as her dads chased after her. fat tears rushing down her red cheeks as she sobbed. why…why couldn’t they use they? or them? why…why was it so obvious?

“sweetheart,” wilford huffed as he slowed down. dark running up behind them, “what’s gotten into you? we still need–”

“i’m a girl.”

the words leave her mouth before she can bite her tongue. all those years of holding it in. holding it back to not cause trouble, finally broken.

“…what?” dark asked, kneeling down with wilford to be at eye level with yan. the two of them confused, what was into yan? what was going on?

“…i’m a girl. i want to be referred to as she…a-and miss and her. i’m not,” she sniffles harder, holding onto wilford, dark holding them in a tight hugs as she yells into wilford’s chest.

“i’m not a boy, i’m not a boy, i’m–”

wilford coos and runs his fingers through her soft silky black hair, dark hugging her closer. the two kneeling there in the nearly empty mall as yan cries.

“…we love you, yan.” dark finally says, his voice no longer glitchy or fuzzing in and out. crystal clear. “youre our only daughter. and we love you and want to support you no matter what.”

“he’s right,” wilford tears up, “what you did was so brave – it took guts to tell us. and it makes me and your father so proud to call you our daughter.”

the three continue to hug and wipe away tears from the emotional ordeal. yan resting her head against wilford shoulder as they sit.

“…can we go home? i–i don’t feel like shopping anymore.” she asks, wikford helping her up.

“of course, dark? can you go return these?”

“wait…dad, you don’t have to. you already bought it–”

“nonsense!” he yells and giggles, kissing her cheek again as she winces. he hasn’t done that since she was a little girl, “we got the wrong uniform anyways – if you’re up for it we can come back tomorrow for the right one, yeah? i think the navy blue skirt i saw you eyeing this morning would look perfect on you.”

yan sniffles again and follows her dad out the door as dark does as he was told. the three a happy little family.

because of course a family can be a wacky dad with a pink mustache, an evil dad with a glitchy aura, and a wonderful daughter with quick wits.
