i actually have a headcanon about that!!
it wasn’t always the Jim Twins – at one point it was the Jim Triplets. always at each others side, getting into any means necessary to delivery the news. promising one day they’ll make it to tv fame and fortune. together, as twins.
there was jim, outgoing, loud, and energetic. he was the weather man and the on sight reporter (wkm) of the three.
and jim, silently confident, shy, and technical. he preferred to be a simple news reporter and a camera man (wkm).
but, there was the third jim. this jim was as outgoing as the first, but as confident as the second. he shined in his own way – through wits and charm. so much so he was able to actually land a spot as a game show host. his own show!! a chance to stand out!! not look the same – but to finally be his own person.
hell, he even had a catchy name like those generic tv show hosts – bim!! bim trimmer!!
but…no, he couldn’t do that to his fellow twins, could he? leave them behind while he pursues fame? breaking their promise, when he knew they would never dare to break said promise?
alas, he did. and never spoke to them again. the first two jims simply waving him a goodbye without a word when he left to film for his new tv gameshow. teary eyed as bim chased after their dreams.
in a way, he’s payin for it. now stuck with a group that looks so alike – so much for sticking out, eh?
