friendly reminder that fanfic authors write full length novels for free, and all most of us ask in return is exposure in the form of recommendations, reblogs, and feedback

Not just full length novels, but full-length BOOK SERIES.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stones was 76,944 words.

Eragon was 157k words

The Hobbit was 95,022.words (and yes, those 22 at the end are very important words~)

Anyway, please PLEASE review, comment, and share the fanfictions you like.

These authors are, for free, giving you hours and hours and hours of entertainment.

Thank them.

Reminder to give fanfic authors all the love!

To put this in perspective, here is a comparison.

The Ultimate Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is 257,000 words. If the average fic is about 7,000 words and you write a fanfic every week with, what, 2,000 in HC’s every day, would you look at that, you’re writing 21,000 words every week. You would reach 257,000 in a little over three months.

Want more conservative numbers? Let’s say it’s only 1,000 in HCs on weekdays, and a fic every other week. That’s 17,000 every two weeks, or 8,500 every week. YOU WOULD STILL REACH THAT NUMBER IN LESS THAN A YEAR.

A SINGLE FANFICTION WRITER CAN WRITE MORE WORDS THAN POE PUBLISHED IN HIS LIFETIME IN UNDER A YEAR.

It’s called respect, and all of you haters out there who think that these guys don’t put time and effort into these things, and that they aren’t real writers?

You need to LEARN IT.

Wowzers! I’m amazing…! But in all seriousness, fanfiction writers are amazing, even if I don’t post a lot, I still intend to provide content and a Halloween special~

Oh wow thank you. And I agree to everything this post says. Fanfiction writers create alot of content and one fic doesn’t have to be as long as a book, but the amount of fics we write could possibly add up to that amount.

This actually is something I never thought about since I often feel like I never write quite enough, and this is important!
