Chapter 11 time! Sorry for the short chapter guys I honestly just couldn’t seem to write anything today, I don’t know why. I couldn’t even seem to type proper English, a number of spelling mistakes I made were just shameful. Oh well, enjoy anyway!

Also, remember to check out @egomaniac1998‘s fanfiction on her blog!

Chapter 11 – Switching Hosts

Anti stood up slowly, grinning as he watched the police officers and receptionist that had come to help step back in fear. He took a moment to relish in the fact that he was in full control again, no Jack to get in his way. That didn’t mean he couldn’t feel him in the back of his mind, of course; Anti had noticed Jack was getting stronger and was able to remain conscious when Anti was in control, but for now, it didn’t matter. Jack was still there, but Anti was the main attraction now.

“W-what are you?” Officer Taylor asked nervously. Anti giggled.
“What are you?” He repeated, taking a step towards her, “Charming. That’s how you greet me? Look, it’s really not-”
He suddenly felt something sharp stab into his back, shortly followed by a current of electricity. He hissed in pain and turned to face Officer Jones, who’s eyes widened when he saw that Anti didn’t appear to be affected by the electricity.
“Bad move,” Anti said with a smile. He then pounced on the officer and grabbed him by the neck. The other officers just stood, stuck by fear, as the receptionist screamed and ran to get help. As the officer choked and struggled beneath him, Anti smiled. He was enjoying this. He was contemplating just sitting here and letting the human slowly die in front of him but eventually decided against it.
This isn’t the officer you had the bad feeling about, is it? He asked Jack.
No, Jack replied, just please don’t kill him-
That’s all I needed to know, Anti replied before gripping the officer’s neck tighter. After a moment he felt it snap beneath him and the human went still.

Anti got up, kicked the body aside and turned to face the other two. Officer Turner roared angrily and started charging at Anti with a baton gripped in his hand. He felt Jack tense up in his mind, though Anti himself didn’t flinch other than just tilting his head to the side.
I can see why you had a bad feeling about this one, Sean, Anti said, he’s very…twitchy.
As the officer got closer Anti reached out a hand and caught the man by the neck. Officer Turner dropped the baton immediately and gripped Anti’s hand, trying to pull it away. He felt Officer Taylor grip the back of his shirt and try to drag him away, but Anti seemed unaffected, all his attention on Officer Turner.

He leaned in close until the two were looking eye to eye before smiling.
“Do excuse me,” Anti said with a joyous giggle, “may I come in?”
Suddenly, to Officer Taylor’s surprise, Jack’s body collapsed to the ground and Officer Turner staggered back, gripping his face and screaming.
Oh, be quiet, Anti said as he searched the man’s mind, it’s not that bad. I just need to see if- Then he found what he was looking for. Perfect, he said, now if you’ll excuse me again, I just need to…

Officer Turner’s head contorted to the side before righting itself, the eyes now a deathly black. Officer Taylor screamed.
“There we go,” Anti said in Officer Turner’s voice. He then turned to face Officer Taylor, who staggered back.
“Wh-what did you do to him?!” She cried, blind terror in her eyes, “Why did one of us deserve to die and the other-”
“It’s none of your business!” Anti snapped, watching the woman cower like a scared animal before him, “This guy works for Intex labs. He’s useful to me.” He smiled at how helpless this police officer was now.

Jack regained control of his body as the body Anti now possessed started lumbering towards the female officer. He noticed more people enter the room: the receptionist and a few doctors.
I need to get out of here, Jack thought.

With this, Jack started to crawl along the floor on his stomach, trying to block out the screams that rang through the building and the manic laughs from Anti. It was a massacre. Blood started to pool across the floor, and Jack found himself practically swimming in it as he crawled. But he didn’t care. As long as Anti didn’t notice him, he didn’t care.

He eventually made it to the door, at which point he stood up and ran, bursting through the door and sprinting down the street, the screams of agony still ringing in his ears.
