Marvin hadn’t meant for this to happen. He had just been practicing some spells, and Jack just happened to be in the room.
Now the magician was staring at a brown fox. Said fox seemed incredibly annoyed. The animal let out a yip, before baring his teeth at Marvin.
“I’m sorry, okay! I promise I’ll change you back, let me just look through my spells,” he said, flipping through a couple pages of his book.
“Oh,” he whispered.
The fox yipped again, pointing with his nose at the book. Marvin gulped.
“Well, you see… the spell lasts for 24 hours, and then you’ll go back t-”
Before Marvin could finish his sentence the fox had lunged at him, tackling him to the ground. The magician let out a yelp of surprise. “Please don’t hurt me!”
At that very moment, Chase had walked into the room. “Why is there a fox in the living room?”
Marvin and the animal turned to look at him.
Clearing his throat, the entity on the floor said, “Well uh… this is actually… Jack.”
Chase burst into laughter, clutching his stomach. “That’s real funny, Marv,” he replied, wiping an imaginary tear from his eye.
His laughter died down and the smile faded from his face after Marvin stared at him.
“Oh,” he breathed. “You’re not jokin’.”
The fox- Jack, growled, jumping off of Marvin.
Chase sighed, rubbing his temples. “Do you want to eat like… a bird or something?” He turned towards Jack.
Both Jack and Marvin glared at Chase in disgust.
“What? Foxes eat birds!”
