Thunderstorms were a well known phenomenon on uninhabitable or semi-inhabitable (only within well secured settlements) planets. The ship was currently on Planet Ixtgrssk to catalogue its composition and atmosphere when the thunderstorm hit.
Qhefta and a few others of their kind were working with Human Peter near the entrance and therefore saw as it began. Human Peter immediately went pale and huddled in a corner. He started crying as soon as the first thunder rolled over them. Qhefta attempted to soothe him:
“Do not worry Human Peter, we are perfectly safe within the ship. The hull is able to deflect even these deadly and terrifying amounts of electricity. Human Peter why are you crying even worse now? Human Peter?”Just then Human Jan rushed past them yelling for Human Sara to come out of her Room. Both of them were in the process of putting on their boots when Qhefta interrupted them:
“Human Jan, why are you preparing to leave the ship? You are at risk of dying if you go outside. ”“Oh,come on, it’s super unlikely that we’ll get struck by lightening, the storm isn’t even that bad. We had these constantly where I’m from. God I miss them, they’re so pretty to look at”
“You find potentially deadly bolts of electricity pretty to look at???”
“Yeah, it’s super cool” with those words Human Jan and Human Sara rushed outside without even putting on protection against the rain or the wind currently battering the planet. Qhefta just stared after them in confusion and terror while Human Peter was still huddled in the corner, sobbing.
