Colonel William has suspenders and a yellow shirt.
He thinks death is a joke because we were brought back to life after we died.
“It was an accident… I swear!” When he shoots us.
He uses very complicated and old words like “rapscallion” or “Bully!”
The same gun as Wilford has in Markiplier TV.
Dark calling him Will.
Do I need to say more?
Colonel has gone insane after seeing us alive and has become Wilford Warfstache, someone who thinks he doesn’t kill anyone and it’s just a joke if they don’t move anymore. – Mod Lily

Darkiplier Broken (xReader?)

((Based on this post: https://narutofoxlover.tumblr.com/post/166394198256/i-dont-think-ill-ever-get-over-how-sad-that ))

The sound of your breaths were the only thing you could hear, for what felt like just a moment and an eternity at the same time.

When that eternal moment ended, you saw him flicker to life behind the glass, standing in an empty void of darkness.

“Do you trust me, (Y/N)?” his deep, convoluted voice asked you, the piercing ring following his words into your ears.

You hesitated. Mark had always warned us against this– making a deal with the Dark. He’s a social manipulator, his voice reminded you in your mind. He leads you into this false sense of security, and he wants you to trust him so he can take advantage of you…

But this time seemed… different, somehow.

You swallowed, then nodded.

Once. Just this once, you’d do it.

He offered you his hand, and you took it, and then–

A rush of cold tingled down your spine and froze you still as the blackness took you in. You weren’t home anymore, that was certain. You suddenly realized just how much danger you had really put yourself in–

“(Y/N).”

You blinked. Still you could see nothing, just the void.

He appeared again to you, his shifting red and blue auras flicking as he smoothed down his suit once more.

“Are you all right, (Y/N)?”

Your voice was lost to you, but you could move again. You managed to nod in reply.

He sighed relief, and his breath was heavy in his throat.

“I… I didn’t bring you here to hurt you. I’m not here to hurt anyone…” he continued, a flash of red dancing in his seemingly once-human expression as anger bid him pause. “Except for him.”

Him. Who’s ‘him’, you wondered? Was it Mark, your beloved little Markimoo?

Dark rolled his eyes as if he’d read your thoughts and replied, exasperated at your notion. “No, not that Mark.”

You tilted your head to one side, intrigued. Why’d he say that Mark? If not your Mark, then… who?

His shape began to fizzle, and a moment of panic overcame you. You flinched and pressed your eyes closed as his red and blue halves split apart and he let out a heart-wrenching yell that suddenly told you of nothing but grief, betrayal, agony–

“I’ll tell you who.”

The words cut off the scream as if it had been nothing in the first place.

Slowly you opened your eyes again.

Where Dark had just been were now two people, a man and a woman. He looked familiar, yet at the same time, foreign– and the other… well, she was someone new entirely.

She glowed a bright, vivid red, while he emanated a soft, ghostly blue.

Who… who were these people?

The man walked closer to you, a gentle understanding in his gaze.

“It– it’s all right, (Y/N),” he assured you, and you felt totally relaxed in his presence. It was… comforting. “It’s all right. I promise.”

You let out a breath as you felt all the tension in your neck ease.

But… how did he know your name?

He came closer, nervously wringing what looked to be a short, official-looking baton in his hands.

He bowed his head slightly to you.

“My name is Damien,” he told you, finding your eyes again, then nodding to the woman behind him. “And that’s Celine. (Y/N), we’re here to tell you something very important, and we haven’t got much time to explain everything to you.”

Again, you were confused, but in this new dark setting, things oddly made sense without much thought. You nodded.

“Nobody knows our story, (Y/N). We’ve never been able to tell anyone what we’re here to tell you,” the woman called Celine said, coming forward to stand at Damien’s side. “And I know we’ve only just met, but… if you trust us, we need you to listen.”

Your eyes narrowed slightly. A story? Where did these people come from, anyway? What right did they have to ask you to trust them?

But once more, your resistance to the unknown faded into curiosity. Your voice still missing from your throat, you nodded again.

At this, they came closer one more time, and each slowly took one of your hands. Both of them were cold to your touch, but behind the cold, you began to feel a sparkle of warmth…

And then the story suddenly flooded your mind as if it were your own memory.

“My friends call me the Colonel. You’re welcome to do the same, should it please you.”

“Ah, there’s our little monster! Good to let the beast out every once in a while, eh, old friend?”

“MURDER!”

“OH MY GOD, MURDER!”

“I want you to CARE!”

“Keep your enemies close.”

“A domain of evil this is… but in we must go.”

“The body. It just f*cking disappeared!”

“All life needs a bit of madness, eh, chap?”

“Mayhaps our counting skills are not as good as we presume them to be.”

“There are dark forces surrounding this manor…”

“I can sense you play a far greater part in all this. Will you help me?”

“But– all this talk of the occult!”

“OUR FRIEND IS DEAD!”

“Did you see something? Go back! NOW!”

“I already lost one friend today… I don’t want to lose another.”

“SOMEBODY HELP ME!”

“I quit, B*TCH!”

“The detective… he’s been keeping tabs on us!”

“Madness is sleeping with your best friend’s wife!”

The sound of a gunshot pierced both your ears and your hands. Silence reigned again for a few moments, then…

“It’s not fair, is it?”

“He trapped us here, with nothing but this broken shell! He’s walking out there in MY body–”

“In the same way I brought you here, I can send you back.”

“You can’t survive on your own. You’re dead, after all.”

“You just need to let us in. This’ll work… I promise.”

You blinked your eyes back open. Your heart pounded deep within your chest.

None of that made sense to you at first… but then, suddenly, every part of it did.

It all made sense.

Opening your eyes again fully, you quickly found that Damien and Celine had disappeared. Where were they?

You stood to find them– but when you did, you realized that you were home again. What? How? You could’ve sworn you were just…

Your gaze fell back on the mirror before you, and once more, you were not the reflection looking back at you.

Dark had returned in all his flickering form. You could not hear him anymore, but still, you seemed to understand.

The agony in his scream was true.

The Mark he hated wasn’t yours.

He wasn’t evil.

He had been human once, just like you.

Damien’s phantom blue and Celine’s burning scarlet shone around Dark’s solemn figure one more time, and you recognized the pain in his eyes as one you suddenly felt akin to, right before–

CRACK-!

Your mirror shattered into a million pieces in its frame, and in it, you saw your own broken reflection.

And in that moment, you think you understood what Darkiplier really was.

A broken reflection.

((Jesus this took a LONG time to write but I hope it was all you were hoping for))

Good lord, i was not expecting so many talented people to write stuff based off of the little idea i had. So cool! 😀

Okay, so this has been bugging me for a while. The colonel is wilford yeah, but why did he suddenly decide to go into journalism? My theory is that after seeing all those bogus tabloid newspapers and magazines in the detectives study, he decided to show everyone the truth, get to the bottom of everything so that nobody else would have to suffer the same crap he did (the false accusations, the planted evidence, the bribed staff etc)

chase-brody-protection-squad:

That was my theory as well – Mod Lily

The Tragedy of Darkiplier and Warfstache

My heart is pounding as I write this.

(Gifs from @markired.)

Darkiplier isn’t evil.

Considering the Colonel’s breakdown as his last shred of sanity finally giving in, it makes total sense why he runs from us.

Wilford is scared. Celine and Damien? They were his only support system. They were the only ones he considered friends. The only ones he thought he could trust.

They truly did care about him.

They knew they couldn’t leave Will alone, so they took one more shot at life to see if he could live without them.

It’s obvious now that he can’t.

Wilford has no one left. No more support system, no one left to keep him grounded.

Why do you think Damien thought he had to relay the news of Mark’s death to him? He had to do it carefully so he wouldn’t lose it– but was surprised at the fact that he didn’t. That’s why Damien snapped at him (“You come find me when you pull your head out of your ass!”), and almost immediately apologized after taking a moment to think (“I lost my temper, and it wasn’t right”). That was because Damien cared enough to make sure he got the information from someone he knew was safe and trustworthy.

Darkiplier is Celine and Damien’s last physical chance to make sure Wilford will be okay.

Darkiplier was born out of love.

Think about it.

He doesn’t like giving people choices anymore because Damien and Celine were forced to be selfless if they ever wanted to see Will again.

He sits at the opposite end of the ego table because he knows Wilford is dangerous, but will still put himself at something of a risk as an attempt to keep him from going too far off the rails.

He chooses his words carefully and speaks calmly when talking to him just to make sure nothing he says will trigger him again, to be certain that Wilford knows he means well before saying anything else to him that might set him off.

His figure shatters because his shell can barely handle the physical agony of having two souls trapped inside of him.

Damien and Celine are still in him somewhere, but can’t take another risk at losing their only chance to make sure Wilford is okay.

The mirror shattering was his heart breaking into a million pieces, because no longer could he allow himself to love his friend and be there as Damien and Celine once had.

Darkiplier was born out of love.

My heart just broke…

So, I was rethinking about the ending of WKM and thinking about it made my heart break once I took a deeper look into it and now I view the characters way differently then I did before.

The Colonel used to be a man who had much love and light in his life. He was a colonel, a freaking army officer, someone that children and adults would admire. But then he lost the love and light in his life. He went insane because he lost everything, and was no longer his real self. William then became Warfstache out if shear madness.

That makes me view Warfstache differently. I used to see a goofy killer that doesn’t seem to see he’s killing and hurting people because he’s just oblivious to everything. I thought that Wilford was a cold blooded killer who was just insane for a while. The way he speaks, the movements he makes, that silly mustache made me view him as a goofy character after watching more videos of him. But now I see a man who went insane because he lost his loved ones and thinks that everyone who dies will come back because killing them was just a joke, just an accident. He thinks that he can just kill people, just anyone as a joke. The madness swirling in his brain makes him think this way, because we came back. And I think that deep down in Wilford’s brain of madness, he remembers Celine and Damien. He still thinks that they will pop out of nowhere and share a laugh with him, because it was just a joke that they died.

Damien was a mayor, a trustworthy man, a man who wanted the best for everyone. He had a light aura, a shiny glint in his eye. He wanted to protect everyone, and wanted everyone to live as they wanted and to choose their own life. But that changed, once everything he had was taken away. He was forced to become the dark equivalent of Mark, and he didn’t have a choice. So he thought the only way to get everything back was to lead people into his trap, make people view him trustworthy again, and use it to make people love him again rather then Mark.

And that makes me view Dark differently. I used to view an evil man who takes people under his control to bring Mark down, this demon who would seduce people to take his side. I mean, he sent literal chills up my spine when I first saw him in ADWM. I actually didn’t like him for a while because of the way he spoke to the viewer, just the way he spoke as a whole and that he would seduce people under his wing made me not trust him, but ended up liking him as a cool ego after a while. But, now I view him as a man who just wants everything back, wants everything that he’s lost. He wanted everyone to live life as they chose, but he didn’t get to choose his life. He now tries to show people he’s trustworthy again by seducing them, by giving people want they want. He wants to be Damien again, to have the light aura and glimmer in his eye instead of the dark, glitching aura and the darkness in his eyes.

All of this breaks my heart over and over again looking into the depths of the background of these characters. I love that Mark made WKM, because the fans love it and it shows the origins of Wilford and Dark. But Mark also showed that these characters that seem to be heartless had feelings, had a life. But it breaks my heart…

I’m sorry if ya got emotional.

markired:

wilfordwarfstxche:

I have a question

So, the last episode of WKM, right? We suspected Dark had some kind of play in it, but I can tell that no one suspected it this way.

Since WKM is presumably Warfstache & Dark’s origin story, this must’ve been before ADWM, right?

But we were trapped in a mirror at the end of WKM.

My question is:

How did we get out of the mirror? And most importantly:

Who got us out?

( tagging just in case you guys would find it interesting? )

@lum1natrix

@markired

okay this is totally just a stab in the dark, but idk i think it would be cool…

what if the host got us out?

what do you do with a mirror? you look into it. so what if the only way to free us was that host had to sacrifice his sight? a bit of irony, if you ask me. he stabs out his eyes and that frees us from dark’s hold in the mirror.

host grips our shoulders, empty eye sockets spilling blood down his cheeks as he whispers, “you’re my eyes now.”

but why would host do that, why would he sacrifice his sight like that? perhaps its because he knows that we know so much about dark and about wilford and about everything that goes on. perhaps we’re the ones who help him get that power that he can narrate and know things before they happen.

but like i said, it’s just a thought!!
