kink folded his arms. proud of his newest idea. proud of his new tactic to get mark’s channel. finally, /finally/, he’d be seen as a serious ego. no longer a joke to the internet or other egos. an actual serious being.
“you…cannot be serious.” dark groaned as he wrote down something on his clipboard. “can you ever stop yourself from thinking or correlating plans with sex? or are you some sad addict?”
“…excuse me?” kink stands up. the binds across his clothes chest moving as he breaths in.
“dark, do you need to step outside?” dr. iplier perks up. he knows how dark can get. he knows how kink can get. the two mad at each other is a recipe for disaster.
“doctor, /please/ stay out of this.” dark snarls as he turns back to kink, “you see? the doctor, myself, even google. we’re all legitimate egos. we all contribute something to this team and to help gain control. we’re all /important/.”
he steps to the front of the room. empty save for him, kink, and the doctor. the atmosphere downright choking – tension thick. kink grabbing his briefcase; at least having something if dark snaps like last time.
“now you?” dark chuckles, “you’re like the jims, silver shepherd, or bingiplier. you’re not helpful in anyway. you’re not /important/. you’re only here for cheap laughs. you’re /useless/.”
kink’s breathing quickens as he shakes. unknown if it’s from anger or fear. his stomach fluttering about as he remembers.
he remembers the times he’s dismantled google’s memory and locked files. which required breaking open the panel covering google’s back with force.
he remembers stumbling into dark’s locked files fter countless hours. the poor A.I. completely exhausted and scared. only going forward because of his affection for kink.
he remembers reading over his file. the deep secrets hidden away. the secrets of a manor, a poker night, a mayor, a colonel.
and murder.
“dark, get away from me–”
“are you /scared?/” he laughs as the doctor stands up defensively. ready to break up whatever fight they’d start. at least, before the other egos see it.
he doesn’t have time when he sees dark grab kink’s neck and pin him to the wall. the other ego gasping for air as he does. dark getting in his face. complete darkness in his eyes.
“i know your disgusting perverted ways like this – but i want you to understand your place. know you will never be as important as us heads of the table. you. are. nothing.”
“damien!!”
kink chokes out the name so fast dark just stares into space. something breaking, or opening, inside him.
“you weren’t important–” kink chokes out, “you let your friends die. you let down the colonel, you let down the general attorney. you let them all die – and at your hands. at your hands, damien!!”
“shut up–”
“damien!! you did it!! the colonel may have shot them but you doomed them!! you and celine and mark!! you’re no metter than mark–”
kink gasps for air as dark lets him go. falling to floor and coughing. dark glitching out more than usual. the doctor frozen in place. complete terror as he knows what comes next. dark – his once blue and red aura – turning to a solid blue. gloved hands shaking as dark lifts them up to his face.
there he stands. in a black and white tuxedo. a button announcing his position proudly.
‘Mayor’
“who….? what are?” dark, no, damien turns around to face the doctor, “who are you? what…where am i?”
kink looks up and smiles. a downright evil smile.
he also read the doctor’s case files that night he learned about dark. the A.I. begging him to let him rest. whining and groaning in pain as kink shut him up with a gag.
the doctor’s case files revealed a marvelous secret.
bring up dark’s past enough and you’ll get what he always was.
a scared young man still searching for his best friends.
