Reasons why Denny’s doesn’t feel real

dennys:

hipotonix:

  • I’m pretty much only there at 2am-3am where there’s only ever 1-3 other people, most of the time there to sober up
  • Every time I am there at said time there’s always a cook loudly (but greatly) singing miscellaneous songs
  • Their social media person/people
  • Any time I pass through their doors I feel as though my soul has left the real world and traveled to a different plane of existence.
  • Whenever I go in for a late night meal there’s weird documentaries on (one having a 30 minute explanation of everything wrong with sharknado)
  • Seriously, are their social media people okay?
  • Half the time when I wake up the next day I wonder if me going to Denny’s was just a weird dream
  • Social media people, are you safe? do you need a hug

good reasons

ANSWER THE QUESTION!!! Are you guys ok?

Mark vs. Dark

melissatreglia:

Mark is goofy and makes fun of himself, often before anyone else can. Dark takes Himself way too seriously and doesn’t appreciate being “mocked”.

Mark is sweet and charming. Dark is seductive and mysterious.

Mark loves his family, friends and fans. Dark is hell-bent on gaining everyone’s complete devotion. Forever.

Mark is a confident boy who sometimes overreaches. Dark is an arrogant prick.

Mark is persistent. Dark is obsessive.

Mark would like to spend quality time with people. Dark isolates them with no way out.

Mark is patient. Dark sits back and waits, taking His time, to the point that He almost seems lazy to the uninformed.

Mark’s flashes of temper cause us to worry for his health. Dark’s rage is truly terrifying to behold and makes us want to run the other way.

Mark works hard. Given the givens? I doubt Dark truly allows Himself a moment’s rest, until all is said and done. (Do demons actually sleep? Like, at all?)

Mark likes to wear clothes that look good on him and are comfy. Dark has a thing about making an impression, and that somehow usually involves a three-piece suit.

Mark has a low, pleasant speaking voice. Dark’s voice is unnaturally deep, and is accompanied by sometimes-painful white noise.

Mark’s shenanigans drive us crazy sometimes. Dark’s schemes utterly mystify us.

Mark fake-kills himself in humourous ways. Dark “died” and re-emerged in a fashion that left us emotionally overwhelmed to the point of tears.

Mark prefers having command over his life and self-image (although he, like the rest of us, can and has made mistakes). Dark is a control freak beyond anything that can be considered reasonable.

Mark admits to his failings and is always trying to improve. Dark sees Himself as inherently superior, and His “shortcomings” are a flaw in your perceptions and not His behaviour/attitude.

Mark offers kindly words out of the goodness of his heart. Dark will say nice things to manipulate you.

Mark offers us the best of himself that he can give, asking for nothing but hitting the like button or donating to charity in his honour. Dark toys with our emotions, wanting everything that we have and leaving us longing for more from Him than He’s likely to give.

Dark is the embodiment of all Mark is, twisted into something that’s alluring and yet horrifying. Something that consumes and destroys rather than creating and uplifting.

He is the monster inside the man. Dark is Mark made wrong.

And that is why His door in the theatre was labeled

THE DARK MARK.

Sole, remembering the faded trenchcoat and worn fedora Ellie had given them for rescuing Nick: Hmmmm… *looks at Hancock* *Mischievous grin* Hey, Hancock!

Hancock, snapping out of bored daze: *shakes head a bit and looks at them* Yeah?

Sole: *holds up outfit and grins wider*

—— Later ——

Nick: Hancock, what—

Hancock, wearing the detective getup and smiling: Look, Nicky, we’re twins! *spins and tips fedora to shadow his eyes* Pretty sexy, don’tcha think~?

Nick: For God’s sake, John.

Sole, in the distance: *tears of laughter*

Ray Frenden reviews the too-cheap-to-be-true Monoprice graphics tablets. How do they stack up to industry standard Wacoms?

After spending a week with the 6.25“x10” Monoprice, my Yiynova and Cintiq remain unplugged and I gave my Intuos away to a friend. The Monoprice tracks subtle pressure variances and small movements with less lag and more crisp fidelity than any of the others. It is, put crudely, fucking awesome, in both OSX Lion and Windows 7 x64.

I have one of these, 10×6.5 I bought about two months ago for 48 bucks. It’s a billion times better than my old Wacom Bamboo and works like a fuckin dream.

ATTENTION ALL PENNY-PINCHING ART FRIENDS!!!

I’m definitely thinking of getting one of these, or asking for one for Christmas. ‘Cause as much as I appreciate Ian giving me his old tablet, I think the pen might be on it’s last legs. ;~;

Oh my god these start at $25 for a little one.

I would be so okay with a little one.

Reblogging this again because I fucking lost it and don’t want to forget it again.

Percussive maintenance

So looking at the Humans are space orcs and earth is space Australia tags I have been thinking. Ailen technology must be ahead of ours, but I bet they never would have thought of the ways we repair ours.

X’allos has been working with human John for 3 weeks now in the engineering department. Their job was to ensure that the ship remained fully operational. Unfortunately for the two of them there was a major problem. The warp cores plasma dampeners were vibrating an excessive amount. If they continued, plasma will vent into the room killing them and possibly lead to a breach of the core.

“Human John!” X’allos exclamed, “Get over here, I need your assistance!”

“I hear it,” Replied John, alarms blaring across the engine room, “will begin venting excess plasma immediately. How long before breach?”

“It looks like, gods, less then 2 minutes!” Replied X’allos, “If we dont stop the vibrations soon we’re done for!

Suddenly John stopped what he was doing, “Wait, vibrations? Why didnt you just say so.” John then walked into the side room where the tools are kept.

“Human John! What are do doing!” Shouted X’allos, panic seeping into his voice. “We have precious little time for human games. I do not wish to die here!”

John returned, holding a copper pipe in his hands, and valted the safty railing. “Dont worry X’all, I’ll handle this.”

“Handle this, human John what are you…” X’allos then cut himself off with a scream as John hit the warp core with the pipe.

X’allos rushed John, before he could hit it again, pinning his arms at his side. “Have you lost your mind human John!?!” X’allos was practically shaking with fear at this point. “What if your actions have doomed us all!?!”

“But X’all…”

“I had heard humans were reckless, almost to the point of being suicidal but I never would have believed it if I hadnt seen it myself.”

“X’allos.”

“So this is it, this is my fate…”

“X’allos!” Exclaimed John, “Listen, isn’t it awfully quite in here?”

X’allos raised his head and heard only the faint hum of the engines and his own heavy breathing. The alarms were silent. “But how?” He asked.

“I thought everyone knew.” Replied John, “For a quick fix always try hitting it really hard.”
