Imagine, if you will:

Dark finding Damien’s old mayor pin.

Dark standing in front of a mirror, hair slicked back with the pin on, smiling sadly at the reflection of who he could have been.

Wilford walking into Dark’s room to ask something and stopping cold in his tracks because standing there is Damien. His best friend who had gone missing (yes, missing, Damien wasn’t dead, of course he was just away somewhere) all those years ago, suddenly appearing out of seemingly nowhere.

Wilford tearfully hugging Damien, babbling about how good it is to see him again.

Dark just standing there, feeling sad and maybe even guilty for the first time in his existence, because he’s not Damien, and he never will be. Because no matter how much he may want to, he can never be that beloved friend that Wilford misses so much.

Dark deciding to go along with it for now, because he can’t tell Wilford the truth. He can’t watch his oldest friend crumble into madness, not again. Because Wilford deserves this one small happiness. Because Wilford never got the closure of a real goodbye. Because Dark can pretend, just for a moment, that things turned out differently.

Dark slowly, carefully, returning Wilford’s hug.

“It’s good to see you, too, old friend.” ~ Dark

Dark finally pulling away and explaining to Wilford that he can’t stay. He has something important to take care of, and Wilford would probably never see him again. Dark, as Damien, promising that even though he’s far away, he’ll never truly be gone.

“I’ll always be with you, as long as you remember me. Can you do that for me, Will? Can you keep my memory alive?” ~ Dark

Wilford begging him not to go, but he knows it’s no use.

Wilford saying a tearful goodbye as he watches Damien leave the room, never to return.

Dark, out in the hallway, letting his hair fall back into its usual swoosh. Taking off the mayor pin, but not wanting to. Going back into his room to find Wilford still standing there, looking sad.

Wilford, focusing on Dark and giving him a small smile.

“I got to say goodbye this time.” ~ Wilford

Whoops, I made myself sad. Crap.

Tagging @markired because your thing about Dark in Damien’s white suit haunted me until I had to write this.

I think you are my angel.
I’m borrowing your wings.
We are real. So close to the goal of goals.
The ultimate feeling.
For the first time infinite.
I don’t want to know where we are tomorrow, because this moment lasts forever.

(Oh don’t worry, tomorrow you’re going to be stuck in a mirror, while a dark entity pushed you ot of your body. Damien is dead, Celine is dead, the Colonel is mad. But yeah. At least you have some fond memories of your beloved mayor! This counts as something right? FUCKING BRING DAMIEN BACK, HE DESERVED THE FUCKING WORLD)

“The future is ours to choose! And I will work hard to ensure that our beloved city has a bright future!”

I drew this after I was hit by inspiraion from this post by @markired

It’s a breezy summer day and the rustling from the leaves outside sound like whispers from my small apartment. I’m sitting in front of my laptop, silently studying the 1.6 billion faces speaking simultaneously in front of me. It’s Monday, the day of the weekly conference call between all Muslims. We have been required to attend this Skype meeting from the the tender age of fetus, but I had never spoken in one of them before.

That changes today.

“Hey guys, what if…” I start to say.

Nobody hears me, but I refuse to be silent. How could I show my face again on Tumblr if I couldn’t even save my mayonnaise friends from death? How could I expect to earn their respect? Anon was right; why hadn’t I done this before? Thousands of lives had paid the price for my ignorance, but not anymore.

“What if you guys….. stopped killing people.“

Suddenly, silence.

1,643,398,023 pairs of eyes are on me. My heart is in my throat as the ISIS leader gives me a blank expression.

A single tear rolls down my cheek. "Please.” I say with a broken voice.

He is moved.

“Aight”.

My fingers are almost shaking as I carefully type in the ten digit phone number I have had memorized my entire life. The buttons on my home phone seem to glow a bit more dull, and even the ringing of the phone from the other end seems to be agonized, almost as if the world is telling me to hang up. But I refuse to give up; I can’t let my white lily friends down. Not again.

The phone rings once. Twice. Three times. Still no answer. Just as I am about to hang up, there is a click.

All I can hear is heavy breathing.

“Hello….” I say quietly, my voice shaking. “Is….. Is this Muslim?”

There was a long silence before I heard a voice answer “ya lol”.

“I was thinking………..” I begin cautiously. “Maybe murder is…………bad.”

“Habibi, I…..I don’t understand. What are you trying to say….?” The voice seems shaken.

“What if…….world peace is good and killing people is…………not good”

He lets out an audible gasp. “Are you saying ISIS is…….bad?”

“Maybe death is…….not good.” I continue. My heart is racing. I remind myself that I am saving thousands of lives, and inhale.

The silence from the other end of the line is almost deafening. He seemed to be thinking, as if he had never considered this idea before in his life. Truly I had opened his heart and his mind. This…. This could end terrorism.

“Muslim….Please.” I whisper.

I hear a tear roll down his cheek, with my Muslim Communication Hearing™ and hold my breath as he finally breathes out his next words.

“Kk.”

“I hear a tear”
How do you hear a tear?

Ah, you must not be Muslim,
