so i saw IT in the movie theater back when it first came out, and i watched it again tonight with my family cos we rented it. and i remember how jack was kinda getting inspiration from IT to maybe incorporate into Anti’s storyline.
So I was thinking.
In “Say Goodbye,” Anti was able to get Jack by cutting his throat with a knife. And jack had mentioned in the past how one of his fears was being stabbed with a knife.
With “Always Watching,” we didnt see jack die on screen here. But the screen blacked out and anti took over once the “normal” recording of jack was corrupting and interupted by him. Thus, in a way, corresponding with jack’s fear of “found footage” type stuff.
In “Kill Jacksepticeye,” Schneep was the one Anti was really hammering after. and the screen blacked out in glitches once Schneep failed at saving Jack.
So, would it be safe to say that maybe Anti doesnt necessarily “win” (take over/corrupt/evilize?/etc) by killing the person. but rather, kinda like pennywise, through making their worst fears a reality?
Because we saw in Schneep’s power hour video how upset he got at A) losing his doctor license, and moreso B) not being able to save Peter. and Peter was just his silly accountant, imagine how traumatized schneep was when he found his best friend on friggin Halloween.
So it makes sense as well, as to why schneep was able to stop Anti from making him choke on his headphone cables. Because Schneeplestein’s worst fear wouldnt be himself dying, like jack. It’d be him trying his absolute hardest to be a real-enough doctor to save Jack, but still ending up killing and failing him. And thus, Schneep might’ve never been actually killed and is still alive, somewhere. But when we do see him next time, he’ll be just as far away from saving as Jack is right now….
So tl;dr (kinda)- Anti wouldn’t necessarily waste precious time and resources to kill every ego, he’d just have to play on whatever fears/weaknesses they have in order to manipulate them like puppets. Like maybe Chase is already a goner cos he was losing Stacy and the Kids. or…actually idk what the other egos’ fears would be, but you get the picture.

Far be it from me to stop people from criticizing Geoff Johns but his take on a somewhat jaded and guarded Billy Batson is surprisingly refreshing to me. I was not a foster kid but I was a ward of the state for about a year and during that time I was sent to many places that orphans end up at. I have mostly been considered by most adults a “good kid” behaved well and stayed out of trouble. But when you’re in the system, regardless of what you did you are taught to act like a criminal. Not by the other kids, but by the adults because they automatically suspect you of being one. It’s a vicious cycle. So to have a Billy Batson that is guarded and finds it hard to trust people is so cathartic to me.
I can dig it, but it messes with many people’s idea of Billy “that happy idiot” Batson
I wouldn’t call a child reporter an idiot but that does bring up an important point. The old comics don’t depict how difficult and miserable homelessness really is. Which is fine when the book wasn’t taken seriously by its readers. But now it runs the risk of having the message that “homelessness isn’t that bad if you have the right attitude”. Captain Marvel is a story of wish fulfillment. Cap is the fantasy and Billy is the relatable figure. Having him being a cheery homeless child reporter distances him from today’s youth. That being said once he gets his powers it’s important for him to learn to be hopeful again.
If you have a child and they are creeped out by a nephew or older brother touching them or looking at them a certain way, you need to have a serious talk with that person and keep them the hell away from your child. Don’t minimize it or tell your kid to hug them anyway, that kid is picking up danger signals they don’t even understand yet. But so many families will tell that kid they are being a brat.

A quick note- this applies to female relatives as well. One of my aunts ignores my little brother’s requests not to hug or kiss him (he has aspergers and doesn’t like physical contact with people he is not very close with). I have repeatedly placed myself between the two of them and had to tell her to back off and stop trying to “desensitize” him. Whether or not there are “danger signals,” it is not okay for adults to invalidate a child or teen’s request for boundaries. We need to teach children now, when they are young, that they can say no to these things and that other people can too.
Me and my little brother were actually sexually assaulted by our older cousin when we were little. Well, I almost was. I had the sense to get out of the room to go tell my parents something weird was going on and when we all came back upstairs he had my brother on the floor with his pants and boxers down. Years later after getting out of juvie he sexually assaulted his little sister. Having already been raped in the past, she was pretty traumatized and never said anything till after she moved away. This all started because his mother left a neighbor she didn’t even know watch him as a child and the neighbor sexually assaulted him. Children who get sexually assaulted have a tendency to do the same to others when they get older.

“goodbye” he says. leaving you on your knees. you are left alone, but you are happy. you finally have corn for arms, just like you always wanted when you were little.
we need to teach women that it’s ok for them not to become mothers because if i see any more bad moms movies coming out and keep seeing sitcoms about moms who hate their children and hate being moms i’m gonna scream like its not ok to bring a child into this world just to turn them into a traumatized adult, being a mother is about putting all your time and energy into a growing and vulnerable human being and if you’re not ready to do that, don’t become a mom.. you can lead a perfectly happy and fulfilling life without having a child just to traumatize them and make both you and your children’s lives miserable
And wtf is with parents pressuring people who don’t want kids into having kids? “Oh you’ll never know a love like this; it’s so rewarding; you should do it.” Like … What? I love my kids and all, but any time I hear a friend thinking about having kids based on how cute mine are I’m always like “ARE YOU SURE THIS IS THE MOST DIFFICULT THING YOU WILL EVER DO IN YOUR LIFE AND IT IS SO EASY TO FUCK THEM UP AND IT WILL STIR UP ALL YOUR CHILDHOOD TRAUMA AND YOU SHOULD PROBABLY BE IN THERAPY SO YOU’RE WORKING ON YOUR SHIT AND NOT PUTTING IT ON THEM AND ALSO GET READY TO NEVER SLEEP AS WELL AGAIN.”
