I don’t know what it is, but the second one splashing into the water cracks me up hard core, like literal tears streaming out of my eyes I’m laughing so hard.
I get my information straight from Mark in this livestream. I’m not making any of this up. This post is purely for what is fact. I’m making this post to write out all that was said / for those who don’t want to watch the hours of footage from the stream. Also, I do further elaborate on what Mark says and connect the events he describes. I also am starting to try and tie in Mark’s new video on Wilford Warfstache and other lore content.

For starters, as Mark said himself, everything in his videos for the lore may change as it goes, and we can only ever be sure of what is on screen. Any theories aren’t true unless shown in a video, and he said he can be influenced by the ideas of the audience about future continuation of the lore. Also in videos, not everything is thought out. Some things are just for the aesthetic. Try sticking to the story more than the background if ever analyzing a video. Few things ever turn out to be important if they’re not the focus of a scene. Also remember, Mark is different from Markiplier in this. Markiplier is a character while Mark is well, Mark. Also Mark said himself that the House is a character. It is cursed and has access or control over another dimension. But we will get into that. Just keep in mind that the House is a character
In WKM, Markiplier invited old friends who he hasn’t seen in ages over to the House, his mansion, for a party. His oldest friends are Damien and William, and they are all childhood friends. Mark said it is possible that he may make Damien and Celine siblings. As to answer the question of who killed Markiplier, it was, as Wilford says himself, “Everyone”. And he is most definitely as correct as he is wrong. But truly, that question is the wrong one to be asking, a right question would be “Why’d Markiplier kill himself?”
Backstory to WKM: So as I said, Markiplier, Damien, and William all were friends since they were children. Markiplier and William both grew up in the House (You can tell William lived in the House at some point because of how he refers to the house as his own still and how the chef tells him off in WKM, plus Mark said it himself. Also because of how normal William thinks his random teleportation around the House is, he doesn’t think about it because it’s always just been a factor.) Markiplier had fallen in love with Celine and they got married, and Celine lived with Markiplier for the time they were together. William eventually fell in love with Celine and she fell in love with him and they ran off together. Markiplier, both betrayed by a friend and cheated on, was left alone in the House. William and Celine ran off but eventually they broke up. William still always loved her after that but Celine went off on her own. She was curious about the House. She studied the dark arts and the supernatural because of it. She is well educated on the topic of the house. Markiplier, left alone in the house, was constantly whispered to by the House things like “they were wrong.”, “they don’t deserve happiness”, “revenge is right”. It was a buildup, slow whispers over time suggesting and suggesting, Markiplier thinking it was just his own thoughts when he was becoming a pawn to the House. He was a “heartbroken idiot” as Mark says. He started to do research and experiments on/in the house since he, like everyone else, noticed at least subconsciously that something is very wrong with the place. (The Gardener says it is cursed). Mark said that Markiplier may have realized just how strange the House is when, while in his early self-hatred for himself after Celine left him for one of his best friends, tried to commit suicide, but it didn’t work. He could literally put a bullet through his own head and still come back to life. Which is why when Detective Abe says “I discovered that in addition to being stabbed 37 times, he was also poisoned, beaten, strangled, drowned, and shot in that order”, it means Markiplier did most of all of these things to himself to test the house’s ability. Except the last thing, that shot. Markiplier threw the party shown in WKM with the true intention of enacting revenge on William for “stealing” Celine away from him (even though it was her choice to be with William). But he covered that intention up by making the party seem like it was meant to heal old wounds and forgive all that was done. Now, this idea wasn’t Markiplier’s, it was the House’s who suggested it through another whisper. The house told Markiplier to use the ability of the curse to steal William’s body and get revenge that way, perhaps even using William’s body to get revenge on Celine, but this didn’t work as planned obviously and the true ending turned out to be even worse than that initial plan (I’ll come back to this later on).
Detective Abe only had known Markiplier prior to this gathering, because Markiplier had regularly hired Abe to look into people he needed to know about, meaning Abe had been to the house before maybe briefly at times to talk to Markiplier but besides that WKM would be his first time really having to explore the House. Abe didn’t hear from Markiplier for a while though before the party, just like everyone else. Detective Abe is meant to be a voice of thought and reason for the viewer since the viewer doesn’t speak and we’re led to blindly follow him as he tried to figure out a case way bigger than any detective could solve.
The Chef and the Gardener had worked at the House for ages, the butler being pretty new. The Gardener knows that the house is cursed from having seen the effects of it on its many residents over the years. This curse is what causes people in the house to cause thunder each time they say “murder” when the Gardener can say it with no effect, since the Gardener hasn’t entered the House in years.
WKM Events: William J. Barnum is the one who physically killed Markiplier. But it how it happened it what is more important than the who. When the party kicked off in WKM every single character got drunk, all except for Markiplier. Markiplier had started his plan, leading a drunken William down into the wine cellar (where the Butler later leads us to clean up the shattered item on the ground). Here, they play Russian Roulette (as referenced in the flashes of the scenes from the party.)
Markiplier tells William they should play this game with just them because it is a way for “you take your shot, and I take mine.” It’s a way to start over in their friendship, to get even by having one equal random chance at killing the other, and if they both live, it’ll be the end of their feud. But of course, Markiplier was planning on being killed in Russian Roulette by William, knowing her can’t die for good, and set up the gun to do just that, putting one bullet in the second chamber. So he took his shot at William and William drunkenly did the same to Markiplier, except the bullet fired, killing Markiplier. William of course freaked out, knowing he’s guilty of murder even though it is an accident because he knows he will seem guilty regardless because of their history and how the situations looks. That’s why Wilford was avoidant in the first episode and only came around more once it was announced that Markiplier’s body had vanished. He covered up the death by taking the body back upstairs, leaving it out and open to the possibility of anyone having done it, instead of limiting it to someone having seen William go down to the wine cellar was Markiplier.
William and Markiplier still hate each other, William not caring for Markiplier and thinking he’s ridiculous / terrible, shown by the flashback with Markiplier as described by William. He doesn’t care so much that he killed Markiplier, he cares more about the fact that he could get caught. Plus, he’ll come to care about more going on as the story continues and new issues arise.
Damien is the only one out of the three old friends who truly has no idea what is going on. He’s confused and genuinely cares, his concern for others very real, worried about the death of Markiplier, confused about why everyone else in the house is treating it like a game. He doesn’t know about the House, having not ever lived there, and has no idea how deep the drama runs between William and Markiplier.
When Markiplier’s body “disappeared” of course it was just Markiplier waking up from his death and going off. Mark’s body does truly vanish after this however, being far too physically damaged to do anyone any good. (It can later be seen by the feet of Damien and Celine in the “Upside down”) He still has the plan to take over William’s body when he gets the chance now that “No one can leave” until the murder investigation/ disappearance is solved.
But a rock is thrown straight through the window of Markiplier and the House’s plan when Celine unexpectedly shows up. The House finds this to be the perfect situation, instantly changing the whole plan. Remember, the House is telling Markiplier to do all of this with the true intention of being able to manifest itself. So, the House suggested alternative to Markiplier because Celine offered more powerful way to manifest itself. She had abilities as a Seer, was far smarter than Markiplier, and had a far better understanding of the House. She was there after all to study the House and apply her learned knowledge for this very grand return. So the House tells Markiplier to take Damien’s body (the excuse is because he’s the in a position of power as mayor, but really he just wants Mark’s consciousness out of the way.)
Celine ends up contacting the House directly through a séance of sorts in her room when it was just Damian and her alone in the room. The House instantly possesses her and then Markiplier takes over Damien’s body while in the room, kicking both Celine and Damien’s consciousness’ into the “Upside down” where the House urges them to convince you, the viewer, to let them take over your body. Damien is genuine as I mentioned, thinking this idea was their own, and that this was the only option to save the day. The House remained consistent here, since it “Makes you think that the ends justify the means no matter what the situation is”. But once they take over your body Damien and Celine consciousness’ may as well be gone since they are joined by the House’s influence / manifestation, and you’re left in the house to stare for an eternity at the mirror Dark shattered. Your body is no longer your own, your vision not following what Dark would be seeing as he looks down at Damien’s staff.
Backtracking a bit to the other story that went on at the end, William became extremely present and aware of what was going on, now caring because Celine and Damien are missing. They’re the only people he cares about and they were gone in a confusing flash. Later on, the reason why when William threw blame back onto Abe after finding Abe’s detective room/notes is because things had gone insane at that point. With Mark’s body gone, William though the death was possibly a lie, thinking maybe Abe really did have something to do with the strange events going on, Abe being the only stranger in the house besides you, the viewer. He wanted to find his friend, and he’d go through anyone to get to them. Also, the fact that the viewer and William only just now found this room is important, like the house chose to let you just now discover it right in the heart of a crucial moment when the last step to the House’s success is you needing to get shot so your body can be taken. Notice how it takes you through the “Upside down” to get there and William walks in right after you, having teleported there as he always does, suggesting the House always chooses where you go while in it. (This is like when in one shot you’re on the second floor and the next second you’re on the first floor outside. Or even why no room seems to consistently connect to any other room.)
William shooting Abe and then you was all foreshadowed with the Detective having told you all of his partners end up dead and a scene during the 1st night’s party where you see William point a gun at Abe.
And Abe was right to suspect William, he did technically kill Markiplier even though it wasn’t because of malice. I mean, what Abe said about William owing Markiplier a lot of money was as true as him saying he ran off with Markiplier’s wife Celine. As to why William killed you, the viewer, and Abe, he says it himself. It was an accident. In the moment of freaking out between the turmoil of having his friends missing, the strain from being in the House and the yelling, his gun went off and you fell straight off the balcony.
The saddest scene comes from the first time we see the true beginning of Wilford Warfstache, when we wake up from having been dead for 10 hours. He’s sitting on the bench, holding Damien’s staff and exclaims his shock as the body he stared at for 10 hours in regret and pain stands up like nothing happened. He then goes off to call for his friend’s names, the absurdity of the situation too insane to understand. You see, Willford goes insane NOT because of grief but because of the insanity in the house. It’s the fact that life from then on out becomes a crazy hellish endless nonsensical mess of things that shouldn’t happen. He goes mad because there’s nothing left but the madness.
You could listen to the advice of Markiplier as he says “Life is for the living”, Damien’s “Life is ours to choose”, or perhaps William’s quote “Life needs a bit of madness”… But Mark’s own quote from the livestream on WKM fits it best, “You can never do the right thing, and you don’t understand why, so you just keep trying” in this ending filled with nothing but darkness and despair.
This is one of my favorite things about being a parent: how you learn things that you might not have had to otherwise. That’s the thing about it–yes, I love my daughter and she is the focus of my parenting goals, but my experiences with her have helped me learn and grow in ways I never expected, and I’m grateful.

In the world of training and fighting, everyone trains.
If Seer Celine is the red in Darkiplier, and Damien is the blue, then the House must be the black, grey and white.
Adding to this; before Darkiplier boots us out of the body, he’s normal colored + no chromatic aberration. After we’re kicked out, Dark goes grey + chromatic aberration.
So, if you know how light/sight/vision works, you’d know that there’s 3 primary colors; Red, Blue, and Green. We know that Damien and Celine are Blue and Red respectively, so the only color left is green. Darkiplier consists of Damien, Celine, The District Attorney, and The House.
Based on that, we can say that when Dark turned grey + chromatic aberration, the House took control. The Colors associated with the characters disappear, sans some fragments of Damien and Celine, as evidenced by the Red & Blue aura. The DA is booted out entirely, hence there being no green aura.
But those are just my thoughts.
I really love your addition to the post, it really got me thinking about some other factors that could break into the character Darkiplier is.
And now, I know Im really going off here into the technicalities, and Im not sure Mark had these intentions when producing Darkiplier, but on a production and design stand point, the RGB color space is a crucial one when coming to understand Dark.
Bare with me here, Im gonna explain a few concepts first and then explain how it applies to Darkiplier. (I’m actually a major in Theater Design/Production and have a focus on Lighting)
To begin with, what is RGB? Like the previous post stated “RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue. It is a color space—a means of representing color—that is based on light. Through the combination of red, green and blue light any other color can be created. Because of this, these three colors are referred to as additive primaries. Primary is in reference to the fact that they are the base colors used to create all other colors. Additive is in reference to the fact that white is created by adding equal parts of all three. Conversely, black is created by the complete absence of red, green and blue light.”
Something else to consider is this fact:
“White is the additive combination of all primary coloured lights while black is the absence of light.
RGB is the color you see on your televisions, computer monitors, phones, and tablets while CMYK colors are specifically used for printing.“
“The simple fact is that RGB is based on light. And printers can’t print light.”
Now, what does this have to do with Darkiplier? Well, actually it reveals A LOT and I’ll break it down piece by piece.
Why Dark being based on RGB and not CMYK is so important, because it can reveal that:
1) He is made up of more light/more from another dimension than he is made from a physical existence (RGB=light CMYK=physical) this again reinforces the ideas that Dark isn’t of this world, but also shows us he is more unreal than he is real, his being not meant to exist, like he tore through a dimension to become himself (which could explain why he turns the world around him black, blue, and red at times). The light used to create his being is bleeding through reality (like the House’s “upside-down”/internal dimension) (I explain this fully here:
2) THIS EXPLAINS SOMETHING BIG ABT DARK: why he glitches. If he is mainly a light based RGB, than his appearance would seem like a TV, explaining the static effects, his eerie voice, and even the new video “go back to sleep…”. In fact him appearing on screen would probably be easier than him manifesting his being in the physical world.
AND even explain the strange deep voice. Because what is sound to light? It’s just slow, the light always reaching you before the sound, causing distortion. The sound is just something bleeding through the dimensions and into Dark separately than the light. He glitches because what he is and his physical light form get jumbled, in that what he wants to appear and what he truly is, is hard to keep hidden. So like if Dark is upset or particularly unstable one day, the RGB light revealing his being won’t lie, and his true form rips through in his screams.
3) This explains the dynamic between Damien, Celine, and the House when it come to how they each effect Darkiplier. I mean just look at Darkiplier, he is primarily black, the absence of light. Sometimes you cant even see the red and blue of him too well, and when you can it is just added effects. They surround the black. It reveals that the House’s characteristics/intentions are the primary factor in who Darkiplier is, while Celine and Damien have a few added things they give to Dark, but they’re just little added features. (I explain this all fully here:
Dark of course is someone new, not them, but how the three influence him is important.
Just some added interesting thoughts:
1. If Y/N was still present (green), Dark would be grey b/c the house is black but RGB is white. But he’d also be less powerful, because he needs the absent of light to be primarily influenced by the House. (The three together possibly stronger than the 1 demon, so the house kicked y/n out. B/c the whole purpose of Dark is for the House to have a physical manifestation that is as strong as possible)
2. If the house wasn’t a factor, and Damien, y/n, and Celine combined, they’d be a white glowing creature.
3. I’d like to imagine a CMYK Darkiplier and all that entails, like he’d be more physical than otherworldly.
In conclusion, Darkiplier is mainly a light based RGB demon that can touch and manipulate the physical world.
Ooh, you just gave me an idea. Let’s take a look at another individual affected by the House.

Now, look at Warfstache. What color is he most associated with?
PINKS AND MAGENTAS
From what we’ve seen of Wilford, he’s DEFINITELY more physical than light based. I mean, he kills with weapons like guns and knives as seen in “Warfstache Interviews Markiplier” and “Markiplier TV” respectively. It’s implied he’s slept with a great deal of women, and he has the added bonus of not entering the Upside-Down, preventing whatever happened to The DA, Celine and Damien from happening to him. It also explains why he glitches basically not at all; he’s WAY more physical than light based, so OF COURSE his body would be more stable in the physical world.
Wilford is the CMYK to Darkiplier’s RGB. He’s the physical being to Dark’s light based being. It’s actually really brilliant how it turns out.
OH MY GOSH, that also explains why William’s red coloring faded into pink, and why there were color distortions in WKM. Or even why William becomes more and more pink!!! Because the House’s effects slowly effect him more and more, more light bleeding through into the physical world, effecting him in a way that doesnt make him light based but shows that light, or rather color from another dimension is effecting him over time, but he is still just CMYK, so he is primarily a physically existing person that’s been effected by a secondary light/color dimension: the House. Their colors are so important. I love this.
And now something else just popped into my head to strengthen this theory. Look at all of the concept designs Wilford had before Mark made the final decision.
Notice something? What 3 colors are used the most in these outfits?
CYAN/BLUE, PINK/MAGENTA, AND YELLOW.
Sure, the Cyan and Magenta aren’t very saturated, but STILL! Out of all 4 concept outfits, these 3 colors were the ONLY ones he used.
Im literally losing my mind this is too on point.
Something else this might give a bit of meaning to?
Abe
Specifically, his B&W monologues. Since we’ve established that B&W are characteristics of the House, we could say that the Detective is sort of an Anti-Darkiplier.
Dark’s greyness is permanent, since the house is most in control. Abe’s greyness is voluntary, since he’s the most in control.
Dark is mostly grey with snippets of color, while Abe is mostly colorful with snippets of B&W
Dark is an otherworldly light based being with supernatural powers. Abe is a normal human with no powers (other than entering his monologues).
Darkiplier is mostly House with bits of Damien and Celine. Abe is mostly Abe with bits of the house
And he falls in a category in between Wilford and Dark. He died in the house, but didn’t become part of Darkiplier, so he retains physical form.
Now, the combination of CYMK ends up being black. The absence makes white. Aside from his B&W monologues, there’s another point to make: look at Abe’s outfit
What 2 colors make it up? Black and White
So what we can determine is this:
1) If you survive the house, but are affected by it in some way, you start gaining CYMK attributes + your body is physical.
Case in point; Wilford Warfstache
2) If you die and are revived into one body, be it your own or someone else’s, you have B&W attributes + your body is physical.
Case in point; Abe the Detective
3) If you die and multiple souls are fused and put into 1 body, you have RGB attributes + your body is made of light.
Case in point; Darkiplier
And the higher each level gets, the more the House affects that person.
So with that covered, let’s point out why it all matters: The House is affecting Abe some way through the B&W monologues, but why? It already has a vessel, so what does it need Abe for?
To answer your last question and later build upon what you said about Abe, I want to say that I don’t think the House needs Abe at all, just like the House doesn’t need Wilford. He used Wilford, Abe, Mark, and everyone else in the House in WKM to get what he wanted: a manifestation of himself in the form of what becomes Darkiplier. Abe, Wilford, and everyone else aren’t vessels, they’re merely being effected by the powers of the House.
Maybe the effects of the House, once you’re inside it long enough, will always effect you. I mean, it explains why the Chef from WKM was also in “A Date with Markiplier”, and why the Gardener didn’t wanna go into the House, and why when he did he wanted to quickly leave.
So that once the House touches you for long enough (starts whispering to you, holding onto you), its effects will never go away. (This can also explain why thunder only occurs when certain characters say “murder” in WKM) But the longer you’re in it, the more it effects you. WHICH CAN EXPLAIN WHY ABE AND WILLIAM ARE EFFECTED SO DIFFERENTLY. Because remember, William references in WKM that he lived in the House for years upon years before the events in WKM unfolded. Mark even clarified that himself during the a livestream he did explaining WKM.
And it isn’t as though Darkiplier would stop to help all those he’s harmed to manifest himself. He doesn’t even care about the lives he’s ruined (I mean it is essentially eternal torture that’s happening to Wilford, Abe, etc.)
(alternative less likely, theories include:
1: maybe the House is just a thin boarder between this world and another dimension, and the House’s demon was just a creature that resided in the other dimension. The House demon (which we can still call the House, because it resided in the House from WKM) manipulated the thin dimension to his advantage, whispering to Actor Mark and manipulating Damien and Celine into giving him a body. Because a demon doesn’t have to have the appearance of a human. In that other dimension it could be more of a spirit.
or 2: After the House manifested itself, it left behind the pocket dimension in the House that still contained the same distorting powers.This theory entails that the other dimension, not the House demon, is what is still effecting Wilford, Abe, etc.
But the original theory I stated connects to more truths in the story, but consider the other two moving forward because I always wanna consider all possibilities, especially as Mark releases more videos.)
So, to build off the strongest theory and what you stated, Abe’s black and white moments are mere after effects of what the House had done to Abe after being in the House after such a short period of time. It could’ve effected him so quickly too because when he died, he would of had to have briefly entered the House’s “Upside-down” dimension before being thrown back into his body, and then off across time and space. The fact that it is black and white and not CMYK/RGB could have to do with this too, I mean the “upside-down” is literally black and white.
What this means is that when Abe awoke from his death, he bought a piece of the “upside-down” back with him. He now is constantly in this black and white world. (Meaning in the scene where Wilford snaps him out of his black and white world, he is literally pulling him away from the House’s effects that keep his world so dull. These two literally balance each other out. Abe helps Wilford too, pulling him back to reality and connecting with Wilford for a bit)
To connect to this, Mark, in his live stream explaining “Wilford ‘MOTHERLOVING’ Warfstache“, focuses a lot on the colors. He talks about how bright Wilford’s world is, how important it is that Abe’s is black and white, and about how when the two are together in the same room, the coloration is the perfect mix between colorful and black and white. It’s their two worlds colliding, or more accurately: their individual effects from the House over lapping. Because like Darkiplier, they both give off a light that changes the world surrounding them (like with Darkiplier turning the world black, red, and blue). I mean look at these three scenes:

I mean, you literally can see their colors / effects on the world fade into each other in “Wilford ‘MOTHERLOVING’ Warfstache“- Don’t believe me? Look closely at the color changes at these times:
Also if one character is giving off more power during a scene, the scene is over powered by their coloration (like for example when Dark is angry/serious, Abe is in his thoughts, or Wilford is dancing). If their energies are equal, so is the coloration of the background. Also, Wilford and Abe can’t control this color shift. Darkiplier can, but if he gets too upset, he can’t control it.
This analysis is absolutely brilliant. The only issue I have with it is that Dark’s colors are not red and blue. They are red and cyan.
Though it’s an interesting thing to consider that not all of the DA was trapped in the mirror. That maybe a very small part of them remained, clinging to Damien.
Thank you!! And it’s interesting you bought that up! And to respond there are two possibilities about why Damien in Darkiplier is Cyan.
First of all is the technical way. When editing the RGB color effect into a video in Adobe Premiere Pro (like Mark did in WKM. He didnt start using Adobe After effects until later- a program that is better for effects in videos, but even with After effects its RGB effects are the same) and in fact photoshop and other Adobe systems as well, the blue effect always appears cyan. (I’m Adobe certified btw, Ive taken three years worth of classes on editing with different adobe systems) However it is still considered RGB. It’s just the RGB effect. The appearance of the color blue in the film, when being split up as it is, is cyan. Im not sure why this specifically is, I just know this is what it always does. Because green included in an RGB effect is noticeable in a video / an edit.

The technical explanation entails Y/N District Attorney was kicked out of Darkiplier by the House, just like Mark said during the WKM explanation livesteam, the green having to be kicked out for Dark to be balanced with the House.
HOWEVER
If you’re right and Mark is using the fact that blue appears Cyan in the RGB effect to his advantage and for story telling, this would mean a small part of Y/N is still with Damien, which is interesting considering Y/N seemed to be Damien’s plus one since everyone always refers to you as “Damien’s friend” and only Damien knows you / recognizes you. A small part of Y/N could be with Damien, combined with his soul while y/n’s mind is left in the house (that part is fact).
BUT i think it is more likely that it is just a technical appearance and not apart of the story. But anything is possible! It’d be much cuter and nicer if you were right about this.
To further clarify because I think I caused confusion:
What I was trying to get at more so was Markiplier’s editing. I dont think he made Damien Cyan because of the story line. I think it was just that while editing with the RGB effect you cant get the blue perfectly blue without the green being obvious. Because Damien alone is also cyan, not blue. It’s just how Mark edited it. But it is still called the RGB color effect.
It takes a while and a few failed scenarios but eventually the cold-blooded Linkonians seem to make a break through with the supposedly vicious race known as Humans.
The study had started after a scout had questioned the knowledge of humans as an aggressive/borderline suicidal warrior species after witnessing several humans inconvenience themselves in order to give aide to some of the blood thirsty beasts on the planet earth.
Finally a conclusion had been drawn.
These strange warm-blooded creatures seemed to respond beautifully to any show of loyalty. Taming dangerous creatures seemingly without thought and defending the horrific acts of beasts with cooing proclamations of affection and understanding.
The final data piece happened when a study team observed that a human had somehow befriended a member of the elusive other-race that seemed to have found residence on earth, though in a separate plane of existence. Demons, the humans called them. Known for preying on the humans and being astoundingly cruel.
And here was this young human, casually accepting not only the existence of such a creature, but voluntarily living alongside it and even getting defensive when questioned.
“He’s never done anything to me! We’re cool. I’m not fucking with a good thing!”
Clearly, when the residents of Linkonie were ready to make contact, it would have to be made gently and with hesitation. The humans were indeed a vicious enemy, but perhaps they’d make a valuable ally.
I was baking a strawberry shortcake for my mom when I realized that I forgot the baking powder. I began to panic so I pulled the cakes out of the oven; they were already completely baked but they rose just fine without the baking powder? I was staring at them in confusion, trying to remember if I accidentally put yeast in the batter, when I felt a shadow loom over me. I looked over my shoulder only to find Luigi. Luigi tenderly took my hands and told me, “You need not worry, for I will accompany you in any and all of your baking endeavors.” I have never felt more loved in my life. I cried.
If Seer Celine is the red in Darkiplier, and Damien is the blue, then the House must be the black, grey and white.
Adding to this; before Darkiplier boots us out of the body, he’s normal colored + no chromatic aberration. After we’re kicked out, Dark goes grey + chromatic aberration.
So, if you know how light/sight/vision works, you’d know that there’s 3 primary colors; Red, Blue, and Green. We know that Damien and Celine are Blue and Red respectively, so the only color left is green. Darkiplier consists of Damien, Celine, The District Attorney, and The House.
Based on that, we can say that when Dark turned grey + chromatic aberration, the House took control. The Colors associated with the characters disappear, sans some fragments of Damien and Celine, as evidenced by the Red & Blue aura. The DA is booted out entirely, hence there being no green aura.
But those are just my thoughts.
I really love your addition to the post, it really got me thinking about some other factors that could break into the character Darkiplier is.
And now, I know Im really going off here into the technicalities, and Im not sure Mark had these intentions when producing Darkiplier, but on a production and design stand point, the RGB color space is a crucial one when coming to understand Dark.
Bare with me here, Im gonna explain a few concepts first and then explain how it applies to Darkiplier. (I’m actually a major in Theater Design/Production and have a focus on Lighting)
To begin with, what is RGB? Like the previous post stated “RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue. It is a color space—a means of representing color—that is based on light. Through the combination of red, green and blue light any other color can be created. Because of this, these three colors are referred to as additive primaries. Primary is in reference to the fact that they are the base colors used to create all other colors. Additive is in reference to the fact that white is created by adding equal parts of all three. Conversely, black is created by the complete absence of red, green and blue light.”
Something else to consider is this fact:
“White is the additive combination of all primary coloured lights while black is the absence of light.
RGB is the color you see on your televisions, computer monitors, phones, and tablets while CMYK colors are specifically used for printing.“
“The simple fact is that RGB is based on light. And printers can’t print light.”
Now, what does this have to do with Darkiplier? Well, actually it reveals A LOT and I’ll break it down piece by piece.
Why Dark being based on RGB and not CMYK is so important, because it can reveal that:
1) He is made up of more light/more from another dimension than he is made from a physical existence (RGB=light CMYK=physical) this again reinforces the ideas that Dark isn’t of this world, but also shows us he is more unreal than he is real, his being not meant to exist, like he tore through a dimension to become himself (which could explain why he turns the world around him black, blue, and red at times). The light used to create his being is bleeding through reality (like the House’s “upside-down”/internal dimension) (I explain this fully here:
2) THIS EXPLAINS SOMETHING BIG ABT DARK: why he glitches. If he is mainly a light based RGB, than his appearance would seem like a TV, explaining the static effects, his eerie voice, and even the new video “go back to sleep…”. In fact him appearing on screen would probably be easier than him manifesting his being in the physical world.
AND even explain the strange deep voice. Because what is sound to light? It’s just slow, the light always reaching you before the sound, causing distortion. The sound is just something bleeding through the dimensions and into Dark separately than the light. He glitches because what he is and his physical light form get jumbled, in that what he wants to appear and what he truly is, is hard to keep hidden. So like if Dark is upset or particularly unstable one day, the RGB light revealing his being won’t lie, and his true form rips through in his screams.
3) This explains the dynamic between Damien, Celine, and the House when it come to how they each effect Darkiplier. I mean just look at Darkiplier, he is primarily black, the absence of light. Sometimes you cant even see the red and blue of him too well, and when you can it is just added effects. They surround the black. It reveals that the House’s characteristics/intentions are the primary factor in who Darkiplier is, while Celine and Damien have a few added things they give to Dark, but they’re just little added features. (I explain this all fully here:
Dark of course is someone new, not them, but how the three influence him is important.
Just some added interesting thoughts:
1. If Y/N was still present (green), Dark would be grey b/c the house is black but RGB is white. But he’d also be less powerful, because he needs the absent of light to be primarily influenced by the House. (The three together possibly stronger than the 1 demon, so the house kicked y/n out. B/c the whole purpose of Dark is for the House to have a physical manifestation that is as strong as possible)
2. If the house wasn’t a factor, and Damien, y/n, and Celine combined, they’d be a white glowing creature.
3. I’d like to imagine a CMYK Darkiplier and all that entails, like he’d be more physical than otherworldly.
In conclusion, Darkiplier is mainly a light based RGB demon that can touch and manipulate the physical world.
Ooh, you just gave me an idea. Let’s take a look at another individual affected by the House.

Now, look at Warfstache. What color is he most associated with?
PINKS AND MAGENTAS
From what we’ve seen of Wilford, he’s DEFINITELY more physical than light based. I mean, he kills with weapons like guns and knives as seen in “Warfstache Interviews Markiplier” and “Markiplier TV” respectively. It’s implied he’s slept with a great deal of women, and he has the added bonus of not entering the Upside-Down, preventing whatever happened to The DA, Celine and Damien from happening to him. It also explains why he glitches basically not at all; he’s WAY more physical than light based, so OF COURSE his body would be more stable in the physical world.
Wilford is the CMYK to Darkiplier’s RGB. He’s the physical being to Dark’s light based being. It’s actually really brilliant how it turns out.
OH MY GOSH, that also explains why William’s red coloring faded into pink, and why there were color distortions in WKM. Or even why William becomes more and more pink!!! Because the House’s effects slowly effect him more and more, more light bleeding through into the physical world, effecting him in a way that doesnt make him light based but shows that light, or rather color from another dimension is effecting him over time, but he is still just CMYK, so he is primarily a physically existing person that’s been effected by a secondary light/color dimension: the House. Their colors are so important. I love this.
And now something else just popped into my head to strengthen this theory. Look at all of the concept designs Wilford had before Mark made the final decision.
Notice something? What 3 colors are used the most in these outfits?
CYAN/BLUE, PINK/MAGENTA, AND YELLOW.
Sure, the Cyan and Magenta aren’t very saturated, but STILL! Out of all 4 concept outfits, these 3 colors were the ONLY ones he used.
Im literally losing my mind this is too on point.
Something else this might give a bit of meaning to?
Abe
Specifically, his B&W monologues. Since we’ve established that B&W are characteristics of the House, we could say that the Detective is sort of an Anti-Darkiplier.
Dark’s greyness is permanent, since the house is most in control. Abe’s greyness is voluntary, since he’s the most in control.
Dark is mostly grey with snippets of color, while Abe is mostly colorful with snippets of B&W
Dark is an otherworldly light based being with supernatural powers. Abe is a normal human with no powers (other than entering his monologues).
Darkiplier is mostly House with bits of Damien and Celine. Abe is mostly Abe with bits of the house
And he falls in a category in between Wilford and Dark. He died in the house, but didn’t become part of Darkiplier, so he retains physical form.
Now, the combination of CYMK ends up being black. The absence makes white. Aside from his B&W monologues, there’s another point to make: look at Abe’s outfit
What 2 colors make it up? Black and White
So what we can determine is this:
1) If you survive the house, but are affected by it in some way, you start gaining CYMK attributes + your body is physical.
Case in point; Wilford Warfstache
2) If you die and are revived into one body, be it your own or someone else’s, you have B&W attributes + your body is physical.
Case in point; Abe the Detective
3) If you die and multiple souls are fused and put into 1 body, you have RGB attributes + your body is made of light.
Case in point; Darkiplier
And the higher each level gets, the more the House affects that person.
So with that covered, let’s point out why it all matters: The House is affecting Abe some way through the B&W monologues, but why? It already has a vessel, so what does it need Abe for?
To answer your last question and later build upon what you said about Abe, I want to say that I don’t think the House needs Abe at all, just like the House doesn’t need Wilford. He used Wilford, Abe, Mark, and everyone else in the House in WKM to get what he wanted: a manifestation of himself in the form of what becomes Darkiplier. Abe, Wilford, and everyone else aren’t vessels, they’re merely being effected by the powers of the House.
Maybe the effects of the House, once you’re inside it long enough, will always effect you. I mean, it explains why the Chef from WKM was also in “A Date with Markiplier”, and why the Gardener didn’t wanna go into the House, and why when he did he wanted to quickly leave.
So that once the House touches you for long enough (starts whispering to you, holding onto you), its effects will never go away. (This can also explain why thunder only occurs when certain characters say “murder” in WKM) But the longer you’re in it, the more it effects you. WHICH CAN EXPLAIN WHY ABE AND WILLIAM ARE EFFECTED SO DIFFERENTLY. Because remember, William references in WKM that he lived in the House for years upon years before the events in WKM unfolded. Mark even clarified that himself during the a livestream he did explaining WKM.
And it isn’t as though Darkiplier would stop to help all those he’s harmed to manifest himself. He doesn’t even care about the lives he’s ruined (I mean it is essentially eternal torture that’s happening to Wilford, Abe, etc.)
(alternative less likely, theories include:
1: maybe the House is just a thin boarder between this world and another dimension, and the House’s demon was just a creature that resided in the other dimension. The House demon (which we can still call the House, because it resided in the House from WKM) manipulated the thin dimension to his advantage, whispering to Actor Mark and manipulating Damien and Celine into giving him a body. Because a demon doesn’t have to have the appearance of a human. In that other dimension it could be more of a spirit.
or 2: After the House manifested itself, it left behind the pocket dimension in the House that still contained the same distorting powers.This theory entails that the other dimension, not the House demon, is what is still effecting Wilford, Abe, etc.
But the original theory I stated connects to more truths in the story, but consider the other two moving forward because I always wanna consider all possibilities, especially as Mark releases more videos.)
So, to build off the strongest theory and what you stated, Abe’s black and white moments are mere after effects of what the House had done to Abe after being in the House after such a short period of time. It could’ve effected him so quickly too because when he died, he would of had to have briefly entered the House’s “Upside-down” dimension before being thrown back into his body, and then off across time and space. The fact that it is black and white and not CMYK/RGB could have to do with this too, I mean the “upside-down” is literally black and white.
What this means is that when Abe awoke from his death, he bought a piece of the “upside-down” back with him. He now is constantly in this black and white world. (Meaning in the scene where Wilford snaps him out of his black and white world, he is literally pulling him away from the House’s effects that keep his world so dull. These two literally balance each other out. Abe helps Wilford too, pulling him back to reality and connecting with Wilford for a bit)
To connect to this, Mark, in his live stream explaining “Wilford ‘MOTHERLOVING’ Warfstache“, focuses a lot on the colors. He talks about how bright Wilford’s world is, how important it is that Abe’s is black and white, and about how when the two are together in the same room, the coloration is the perfect mix between colorful and black and white. It’s their two worlds colliding, or more accurately: their individual effects from the House over lapping. Because like Darkiplier, they both give off a light that changes the world surrounding them (like with Darkiplier turning the world black, red, and blue). I mean look at these three scenes:

Also if one character is giving off more power during a scene, the scene is over powered by their coloration (like for example when Dark is angry/serious, Abe is in his thoughts, or Wilford is dancing). If their energies are equal, so is the coloration of the background. Also, Wilford and Abe can’t control this color shift. Darkiplier can, but if he gets too upset, he can’t control it.
Yea, that makes a lot of sense. To me, it seems like all major Manor-affected characters have an aura of sorts.
Wilford’s is hyper-saturated
Abe’s has no saturation
Dark is a little in the middle, having blues and reds against the greys.
Now something that I think that leads into is that these auras are like windows into their respective world. I actually want to point out something you said earlier.
That concept of pocket dimensions, and dimensions in general, is what I’ve based my big Markiplier Timeline/Analysis theory around.
I typed it in Google Docs, because I’m actually planning on making it into a YouTube video on my YouTube channel, FanMakerTrailers. I’ll provide a link to it if you want to check it out; I started with my Fanmade WKM? trailer and built from there. I’m planning on doing something like what MatPat does.

There’s a cruiseship’s worth of information there, but definitely worth reading to get an idea of how colour representation has been used in Mark’s videos this year and last year. My mind is already blown halfway down the list!
