You can be a transman and female at the same time. Being trans doesn’t stop you from having XX chromosomes or a uterus, and it certainly won’t stop people from trying to take advantage of that fact that you have said things and exploiting you.

While we both have different beliefs on gender, the store owner, aparently being a radfem from the post, calling transmen a sister are just acknowledging the fast that they are both female, not spitting on your gender identity.

there is more to a person than their chromosomes. just because your itty bitty brain doesn’t understand it, doesn’t mean it isn’t a thing.

There’s also hormones. The hormones that babys are exposed to while in the womb are the deciding factor of which genitals you’ll have, no matter what chromosones you have. If you’re exposed to the wrong hormones for too long or have a mutation that keeps you from absorbing the correct hormones, you’ll be born as a different physical gender than what you were supposed to be according to your chromosomes. This is also one of the ways intersex people are born. And brain scans show that males and females have unique brain patterns specific to their gender. These scans show that the brains of transgender people match the gender they identify as, scientifically validating that trans men are men and trans women are women. So transphobic assholes can fuck off.

Look at this! Look at this fucking thing! This was done in 1986, and used absolutely no CGI whatsoever. It was ALL practical, and ALL done through puppetry. Look at the last gif. Over a dozen vines are moving at once along with its head, lips, and tongue! In interviews Rick Moranis has stated he often forgot he was working with a puppet, as opposed to a really ugly guy. Even today it looks so real. Audrey ii is nothing short of miraculous

It took over 60 puppeteers to operate Audrey II’s final form in the film. You can read more about the puppet’s creation and operation here.

The practical effects of Little Shop of Horrors was fucking astounding.  It’s worth it to mention that, in the scenes where the plant is moving, the filming was slowed to 12 to 16 frames a second, so that the film could be sped up to give the Audrey II a more lifelike appearance.  In such scenes where actors like Rick Moranis had to speak with the plant, he had to mouth his lines at a slower-than-normal speed while still looking convincing, only to have his voice added in post. 

It’s also worth mentioning that a crew of 60+ puppeteers were needed to operate the plant, as the entire puppet weighed over a ton. 

We did this play in high school, 199_, and we split the cost with another high school so that we could afford to make an ENORMOUS puppet that could eat people (and a smaller one, of course, four earlier in the play). It wasn’t as good as in the movie obviously but it was pretty fucking impressive.

Plug It On The Window

The Window Socket offers a neat way to harness solar energy and use it as a plug socket. So far we have seen solutions that act as a solar battery backup, but none as a direct plug-in. Simple in design, the plug just attaches to any window and does its job intuitively.

Guys this isn’t a real product. There are solar chargers you can stick to a window, but they’re larger (this one is WAY too small).

Also just keep in mind even with the larger ones you can’t just plug something in and have it work. There’s a battery getting charged, slower than you’ll be using it up with almost anything. That means you stick it to the window, leave it there for hours, and then plug something until it for a while.

They’re cool, and they get better every year, but they’re not magic.
