Donate if you can, and even if you can’t, spend some time this November educating yourself about the history of the very-much-still-alive tribe that sat down with the pilgrims, the continued history of colonization in America, and about the tribe/s whose land you are occupying.
I’d also recommend seeing if any of the tribes whose land your occupying has a language revitalization program of it’s own. More and more tribes are creating their own programs!

-You go into the kitchen to get some cookies, only to find the cookies are gone. You don’t recall eating the cookies. You live alone. Disappointed and confused, you go back to your room. Ten minutes later, you go into the kitchen to get some cookies.
-Your leg is bouncing. You try to stop it, but you no longer have control. It bounces. Your leg is going numb. Still, it bounces. It never stops. You give up. It bounces.
-You see a big flower in a vase. You attempt to count the number of petals, but something is stopping you. You are sure you said 7, but was that the last number or 10 numbers ago? Still, you do not give up. You start from the beginning. You are still counting.
-You have $100 dollars. You are saving it to buy a new laptop. You see a $75 dollar cosplay. You have $25. You wonder why you bought it. You have never been to a convention. It hangs in your closet, untouched.
-All of your pencils mysteriously disappear. You are sure you put them on your desk, but they are no longer there. You get another pencil. Two days later, your original pencils are on your desk.
It’s loud, big, obnoxious but the apartment does feel better after a good cleaning.
They slink up or down stairs to avoid it’s sound and always Eddie tries to make it quick for them.
But when the babies are brought home V Is about ready to jump on top the roof taking their little tots with them.
They are so young and tiny they could rush over to their father and get sucked into the hell machine if he’s distracted.
On top of that it was so loud it sent most of the children into crying panics. V was about ready to tear the carpet off the floors so they wouldn’t even need the vacuum. Only they’re desire to keep Eddie out of trouble from doing so.
Eddie would of probably let them tear out the carpet. He hated how much the vacuum of all things scared the little ones so much.
The time when he finished the living room and came upstairs to let V know the coast was clear he saw his whole little family bundled up to V with tiny frightened wide eyes as V stretched themselves thin to rock and sooth the little ones. It shattered his heart into pieces.
He ended up in front of Stark with the desire to make sure the little ones felt safe at their new home they’ve already been through enough.
That desire to make them feel safe over shadowed his pride and he ended up asking for money he didn’t have for one of those fancier quite ones. Explaining how his rickety loud one wasn’t ideal around sound sensitive symbiote children.
Surprisingly Stark gave him no shit and was actually pretty willing to help him out. Even if he hated Eddie at least he was willing to help his kids.
Ol’ rickety reliable was tossed and the new vacuum barely made a peep. While V still kept the babies miles away from it at least it didn’t have a roar that scared little symbiotes.
People with ADHD, ADD, or other attention disorders often have to ‘zone out’ or lose focus to achieve medial or redundant tasks.
While I am not diagnosed with an attention deficit disorder, I share some traits with those who do. To clarify, my problems with holding attention stem from boredom and do no debilitate my lifestyle nor education—
—When at work washing dishes, I put myself into what I call ‘autopilot.’ I tune almost all ambient stimuli out. The only thing I can’t completely tune out is human speech. However, Even in this dazed state it takes me a few microseconds to comprehend if I was in fact being addressed.
To further specify: today after our nightly influx of customers. I was cleaning all the closing dishes. This was a heavy workload with minimal change in interesting tasks. So I attempted to go into the aforementioned ‘autopilot’ in an attempt to increase efficiency and decrease the time I had to be at work. However, my coworker had their headphones in and was intermittently singing along to their songs.
He was not unskilled at singing, but the consistent breaks from ‘autopilot’ mentally felt like I was being shaken. It also affected the speed and efficiency at which I worked.
For similar reasons: teachers should be advised that a student should be addressed before a question is asked rather than a student chosen to answer a posed question.
Good example – “William, what is a hypothetical question?”
Bad example – “Who knows what a hypothetical question is? William?
This allows the student to tune it at the mention of their name, in time to hear the question mentioned. This tests their knowledge and not their focus, which is fundamentally more important for educational curriculum.
… . .
You might experience similar lapses in judgment and processing. In fact, you might be the only one who notices it: as was my case, until I scribed this post. Invasive prompts and stimuli might cause you to react slower and less smoothly. This is normal. This is okay. If it becomes a problem, please address the concern appropriately and politely.
