We’re talking about one of our favourite shows on this week’s podcast with one of our
favourite guests, it’s The Flash with guest Brendan McKeigan. We’re talking
about the dangers of sharp garbage, the fun of Ralph, and the merits of costume
design.
Diana: What
I love about Cicada is that anyone on the team could beat him if they had any
physical prowess outside of having superpowers. He has that scene in the forest
where he takes away Barry, Ralph and Cisco’s powers and then Cicada just beats
them up with his bare hands. Basically you just need Arrow to beat this guy. If
Oliver was here with no powers to take away he would just destroy Cicada.
Brendan:
Did you notice how fast they skimmed over that? When Nora was talking about
Cicada in the future, she’s like, “Oh yeah Green Arrow tried once to beat him,
didn’t go well.” Really? Once? Oliver’s not exactly the type to try once and
give up! I don’t know if you know anything about Oliver Queen but he’ll go at
least 23 rounds with somebody, per year.
You won’t see “Aquaman” reviews for some time, but the social-media levy has broken and the first wave of reactions has crashed online. Perhaps surprisingly, they’re almost all highly positive — James Wan’s entry in the DCEU has been called “an absolute blast,” “breathtakingly beautiful,” and “an undersea Star Wars” by those who’ve seen the superhero movie starring Jason Momoa.
Writer Ben Mekler tweeted: Aquaman is everything DC fans have been hoping for and more. Rollicking action, an amazing sense of world-building, spellbinding musical numbers in which Aquaman wears clams as tap shoes, and a command performance from Jason Momoa. DC has really righted the ship. The DCEU lives!
With Aquaman, James Wan has crafted a world the likes of which we’ve never seen on screen before. It truly is an undersea Star Wars, with a palpable sense of history, hammerhead sharks with human legs who can pop, lock, and drop it, and flat-out incredible creature design.
peter and wade are fighting side by side and when peter runs out of web fluid, he grabs a gun off wade’s belt and wade has this transcendent moment of i’m going to watch spiderman shoot my gun at a real live bad guy
but peter just fucking throws it at a bad guy’s face and knocks him out cold
The impact causes the gun to go off and shoot wade in the dick. Spider man spends the next several minutes frantically apologizing while cable laughs his ass off for the first time in years.
Pretty sure I’ve read this comic
@wishem please omg just a quick doodle or something even
Everyone has pointed out the Purple Guy reference in Deltarune, right? It was fun and pretty chill of Toby to wink in our direction like that. And some people have pointed out that this
Might very well be another FNAF reference in that it looks like Scott’s logo mixed with Freddy, right?
So I was like, “That’s cute.” But then I was like “wait a minute—”
