Talk From Superheroes: Titans
On this week’s podcast we’re talking about episodes 1 to 6 of DC Universe’s premiere show, Titans. We break down how a bad pilot turned into a good show, how excited we are for Doom Patrol, how you up the ante after murder, and how many ridiculous ways you can avoid showing Bruce Wayne.

episode three they do Robin’s origin story, where he’s adopted by Bruce Wayne
and taught life lessons by Bruce Wayne, but it’s ridiculous because the show
can’t legally show or include Bruce Wayne or Batman.Diana: They
also can’t show Alfred. So they can’t include Alfred or Bruce Wayne in speaking
roles, they are shown only in silhouette and their dialogue is from notes that
Bruce leaves in Dick’s room. It’s so dumb and I have no idea why they decided
to do an episode about Robin’s origin if they can’t show Bruce or Alfred.Andrew: For
all those people who didn’t know Robin’s origin story I guess.Diana: Oh, all
those people who subscribe to DC Universe, the streaming channel that only has
superhero shows, but DON’T know who Robin is. Those people who get a
subscription only network that only has one original TV show, which is Titans,
but don’t know who Robin is. All those people!Andrew:
Yeah it was a pretty unnecessary episode.
