I’ve been thinking about the humans are wierd posts what if aliens only communicate verbally or telepathically and are super surprised by our gesturing.

Not only sign language but like wondering why we are waving around our hands for emphasis and military signs.

Like imagine there is a collaborative mission to explore a new planet headed by a human and the human stops in the middle of a sentence, looking around alarmed. The aliens confused at the disruption of the humans speech pattern question his well-being.

And the human Just puts a finger to his lips and gestures for them to crouch down, other humans follow the command directly. But the aliens just stand there convinced that the humans have collectively lost their minds and loudly question their actions.

Finally one of the humans whispers to explain that the captain heard something and that they need to be quiet and stay low til we know what it is.
