So guys…

I’d like to share something that I think would cheer us all up.

There was a Pride Parade that happened on the last day of June in Manila, Philippines (which, considering the flack LGBT people face on a daily basis in a predominantly Christian country, is a very brave thing to do).

And then the best thing happened:

Pictured above are Christians, holding signs, apologizing for the horrible way they’ve treated the LGBT community. They’ve attended four pride parades as part of their “I’m Sorry” campaign. Seeing this just… makes me really emotional in a happy way. Like, imagine if all Christians were as positive and mature and accepting as these folks right here… the world would be a much better place. These people acknowledged just how much damage they’ve done to LGBT people – and they APOLOGIZED FOR IT.

I have a Ph.D. in Religions (it’s worth the paper it’s printed on, so less than 2 cents, but still…)

I have read the Bible cover to cover.

I read it for comprehension, and I took notes.

Thousands of notes.

I wrote a thesis paper of the culmination of my studies & my findings, the causations, the correlations, the awful things, the awesome things.  (I laugh at those who claim they’ve “studied” the Bible…no, “Sharon,” you have not. You’ve read the Bible, I’ll grant you that…but you clearly have not studied it.)

With that in-depth analysis under my belt and the card in my wallet that makes me a literal card-carrying minister, I say unto all of you:

This, according to the words of Christ Himself, is how true Christians are supposed to act.

Especially when they and others professing to be like them, have wronged others.

That is the truth of Christ’s teachings.

Not whatever anti-Christ stuff is being espoused all over the place.
