If Dark was created out of Celine and Damien’s need for revenge on Mark, that almost completely changes the mood of ADWM. (hear me out okay)

Dark doesn’t show up to take us, to use us. He shows up to PROTECT US.

Mark took everything from Celine and Damien, so when Dark sees that Mark has his clutches on us in a different timeline (ADWM), he grows furious. They’ve already lost the Colonel, and in a sense, themselves. They can’t lose you again.

Dark’s a bit deranged at this point, but his intentions are well meaning.

He wants to protect you from Mark.

Oh fuck…

This makes so much fucking sense.

Think about it: almost all of the endings where you end up with Mark doesn’t end well. The only ones ending the way you want them to are the Vanilla and the Tuna endings. The rest of them, you’re deceived or Mark dies and you’re on your own facing dangers (the Ded ending for example).
