At the time, the manor belonged to him but because of the financial loss of said safari, he was forced to sell it. But Dark remained. Mark bought the manor and was influenced by Dark to live a hedonistic lifestyle until a host with enough power and influence- say, for instance, a mayor, a seer, and a district attorney- showed up.
