Okay, so this has been bugging me for a while. The colonel is wilford yeah, but why did he suddenly decide to go into journalism? My theory is that after seeing all those bogus tabloid newspapers and magazines in the detectives study, he decided to show everyone the truth, get to the bottom of everything so that nobody else would have to suffer the same crap he did (the false accusations, the planted evidence, the bribed staff etc)
