Dark shifts around so much (stretching his neck, flexing his shoulders, etc) is because his body is literally broken and needs to be adjusted occasionally.

Dark is much more fragile than we originally thought.

If he doesn’t shift, readjust, his entire body may fall apart and he can’t afford that, now can he?
