i’m the anon from earlier, when i was about to watch WKM. now that i’ve seen it, i’ve legit started dissociating for the first time in months. headcanon that (as others said) dark is celine+damien, both mad at mark for his revenge, hence dark disliking mark. damien died by snapped neck, hence dark’s neck cracks. dark used you as a bridge back to life because you were only recently dead, body still warm. colonel is wilford-origins. and the markiplier we know was always undead. what a rush. luv it

honestly im super overwhelmed by the project n shit so im just gonna post this to see what other people think! seems logical to me, though. ill be busy attempting to do egotober, dm me if y’all need anything!

i’m this anon. here’s my full(er) headcanon.

whenever people die in this mansion, they stay in some sort of spirit-limbo, because of whatever is spiritually “off” about the house, which celine noticed.

it starts off with mark inviting everyone to his mansion, specifically including his old friends the mayor, the seer, and the colonel. (in this headcanon, the seer was invited but was just late.) he’s mad at the colonel for the whole wife-stealing thing. he’s mad at the seer and the mayor for reasons i don’t know. he plots his own death, careful not to die in any clearly-injured way. he then waits in spirit-limbo.

at this point, i believe that mark, and anyone else in spirit-limbo, is able to possess recently deceased dead bodies or otherwise-inviting bodies (like a seer who is willingly channeling the spirit) for short periods of time.

after his death, everyone gathers around and confirms that he’s dead. once everyone leaves the room, he temporarily possesses his own body and hides in a bush. (in this case, jim’s careful maneuovers through the greenery may have been him casually stepping over the body, not knowing that that’s the body of the victim, because jim doesn’t know who lives here or who was murdered.) mark then goes back to spirit-limbo.

everyone comes back and finds that mark’s body is gone. “all by itself?” is actually a hint to the truth. it’s safely hidden outside, where nobody is searching, not even the groundskeeper. why? because the groundskeeper is only secretly living there, and therefore he isn’t out and about, since it’s a weekday. (i could be wrong. i forget what day it said it was, but i assume it’s a weekday.)

while everyone freaks out about whodunnit, we learn a bit more about the characters. celine finally arrives, which mark has been waiting for, in spirit form. after she and damien go in that closed room together, they try channeling mark again. but this time, he pounces. he possessed the inviting body of celine, and snaps damiens neck. he then makes celine kill herself somehow, but not before doing something otherworldy to make sure that he can possess himself permanently.

at this point, i believe mark is permanently possessing his own dead body, and you can argue whether or not that means his body is alive from here onward.

mark has left celine and damien in spirit-limbo. he’s gone off to a local shop to go watch tv or something. if you want to add complexity to the headcanon, you could say he’s watching the drama unfold through the Little Buddy camera(s). he might also be the reason why they have a kill mode. (which i can’t confirm because i read about it in another tumblr post and i’m too lazy to check the video right now)

after damien and celine are dead, (and everyone seems to just kinda know they’re dead) there’s a panic among the living. celine and damien can’t just come back, because mark was using celine’s body for a while, to the point where she isn’t recently deceased, and therefore can’t just hop back to life. damien has been dead for even longer, so his body’s not an option either.

as far as mark is concerned, if he shows his face in society again, the only people who would know he died and came back would be his employees, or dead. except the colonel, but we’d ignore ol’ wilford warfstache if he mentioned this, right? and except the detective, but he was never heard from again after this, right? (in fact, he left the colonel a recording, saying “if you can hear this, you better run” as he was dying.) and except you, but you’re a public figure, so he might intend to kill you off as soon as you leave the mansion, so you can’t tell society that mark’s dead.

so basically, as far as the world knows, mark never died. we notice his weird ankle turning, and his strange movements, but we don’t think those are based on fatal injuries, we just think mark’s a quirky guy. right?

but then, something happens that mark didn’t plan. the colonel accidentally shoots you. and you’re recently deceased, now. celine and damien take this opportunity to get back to life. a single person’s body has enough space for one whole person, or perhaps two halves, or three thirds, or some other combination of fractions. celine and damien have known each other long enough to be okay with splitting a body. but you? they don’t know you from adam. so after all three of you revive, together in your body, the colonel is relieved.

but then they use their two-thirds of influence to go over to the mirror and leave you there, effectively removing your spirit from your body and leaving you floating in front of that mirror. note that i don’t think they left you in the mirror, because if so, your perspective would have horizontally flipped.

damien and celine are now in your body, and celine did a magical thing so that your body would look like damien’s. (as someone on tumblr said, it may be because damien’s has the least visible injuries.) mark may or may not be aware of this. when he returns to society, dark is there in the shadows, haunting him after he murdered them both. the lovable colonel is now warfstache, a witness that nobody would believe, and who liekly isn’t sure of what he saw anyway.

and you, the viewer, are a bodiless spirit who isn’t stuck in spirit-limbo. so you float around, watching events but never taking action, because you have no hands with which to do so. insert further metaphors here.

phew! that was long. thanks for reading. feel free to discuss and expand.
