Be forewarned, I am not usually the one doing all the research and whatnot. I don’t comb through videos frame by frame but this one… This one intrigued me. And I’ll tell you why.
There’s not a lot of solid fact on Anti. Sure, there’s lore that floats around, different head canons and ideas people have. But no one is really sure what he is or what he really wants. In fact, this ambiguity is part of what makes him so interesting.
But I’ve been in this family a while now, long enough to remember when the Anti hype really started up. Before Halloween, when he was an idea. We had Darkiplier, who basically captured our attention entirely until suddenly… he didn’t. Suddenly, theres this new, upstart glitch (or whatever he is, at that point we weren’t really sure) who waltzes in and immediately grabs attention.
This is what I find interesting about Anti. He’s narcissistic. He desperately wants us to notice. To take heed of his words, to hang on them like they’re all we have. He feeds off the attention, in both literal and metaphorical ways. There was an idea around his real debut on Halloween that if we ignored him, he would go away. But he didn’t. He crept into the cracks, making surprise appearances and keeping us on edge. “Was that Anti?” we whispered, “Oh god, what’s going to happen?” Because not only is he narcissistic, he’s a drama queen. He knows exactly how to play it to get the most attention. So he waited. He watched, he listened, he learned. We gave him all the ammunition he needed. We formed ideas, giving him power without realizing it. He grew stronger, as strong as he needed to be in order to execute the next part of his plan. The next victim.
Schneeplestein.
Now, Schneeplestein is not somebody we’ve seen in a while. For a moment, he seemed to have fallen by the wayside. This, i think, was part of Anti’s plan. He needed to revive a lovable character we all missed in order to make a statement.
From the moment the video starts, we’re clued in that something is wrong. Jack doesn’t usually do these videos, the Doctor does. Then, suddenly, Jack is sick and we are left with the Doctor. This arouses excitement for the return of a character but also a nagging sensation that something is still not right.
From as early as 2:23, we’re given signs that Anti is fighting his way into the spotlight
But while the image is glitching, we see that it is still Dr. Schneep.
Further along, in his diagnosis of Jack, Schneep mentions mood swings, saying “Always with the mood swings, one time he’s one person, the next time he’s a completely different person.” Thanks for that, Schneep. Another sign that there might be more than two people in this video. Somebody is trying to get in. He then says, “But this is the Jack we know,” followed by a harsh glitch of Anti, up close and personal, but only for a split second. The fact that the glitch was Anti in his true form, however, shows that he’s gaining ground.
You’ll notice that after an Anti appearance, Schneep always has trouble with his eye. Just the one.
In the next glitch, we see that maybe Schneep isn’t doing as well fighting Anti as he’s letting on. He’s bleeding from the eye that was bothering him earlier, and the glitch seems to go between himself and Anti. He’s fighting back hard, but it’s not looking good. And we’re only 4:22 minutes in.
Then, as he’s prescribes [Anticoagulant], he makes note that when “something gets inside your body and wants to destroy you from the inside out, there is only one way to deal with it. And that is schNEEPLESTEIN.” Followed, of course, by a glitch. A serious one. The demon eyes are out in full force and he’s growing more aggressive. Anti is winning, whether Schneep likes it or not.
I guess you could say he’s not “looking [him]self”.
This is the point at which Anti starts to assert his control. Schneeplestein’s control over Jack’s body (or however you think that dynamic works) is weakening, evidenced by Schneep’s discomfort in his arms and eye. Those aren’t mood swings, Schneep. That’s a demon. Oh, and this next little episode solidifies that too.
Ah yes, which is promptly followed by an alert that the stakes are even higher than before. Jack is in critical condition. “Save Jacksepticeye,” Schneeplestein says, looking straight into the camera. Coincidence? Eh…
Doctor Schneeplestein is tiring out. Saving Jack is proving harder than the thought, and the sudden Anti appearances aren’t helping. He’s grown desperate, saying “Whatever it is inside that brain, we need to get it out.” The stress level is high as Jack’s systems begin to fail. Schneeplestein is taking on some glitches that he doesn’t have. Anti is gaining more ground.
And then he says “Once one goes down, they all go down”. Does that sound important? I’m willing to bet it is.
Schneep is losing Jack quickly, and he himself has become compromised, showing more and more Anti-like tendencies.
And then, aND THEN!!! We get this gem….
My my, doctor. Are you quite alright? That eye of yours…. It looks familiar?
Ah yes… Well I’ll just leave that there…
From this point, Anti is gaining more control. He’s not just taking over the doctor, he’s running him out of the video. He overlays him, takes over the screen. “HELP ME” the doctor says
Dr. Schneeplestein can “feel it in [his] neck”
“feel it everywhere”
And the glitches are lasting longer now. Anti is growing more powerful as the video goes on. We’re feeding him attention, like we always have been. There’s nothing the doctor can do.
And then, he loses. But not just the game. Dr. Schneeplestein has lost the game, Jack, and the fight he was fighting the whole time. The fight he was fighting when he refused to kill himself. The fight he fought when he asked us for help.
But that doesn’t matter now. Because Anti’s won. And he’s pissed. Anti believes he’s smarter than we are. He’s pissed that we were too foolish to recognize his glory. Too dumb to see it wasn’t real.
“Who do you think you were watching this whole time?”
He’s not just talking about the different entities when he says puppets. We’re his puppets too. And he’s jerked us about so well that we don’t even know he’s doing it. He loves control, but he wants to be acknowledged–again, narcissism. He’s frustrated that we believed he was so weak as to just give up. He wants worthy puppets, worthy opponents. That’s why he issues a challenge. He likes it. He wants us to fight so he can win, because he believes with everything he is that he will.
I rambled on and on with this but spread it if you want. Be mindful.
